Pregnancy

leaking after Amnio..

can anyone who has had an amnio offer some advice? I had an amnio on Tuesday and have been feeling a bit "wet" yesterday and today.
I can't honestly say if it's normal wetness or more than usual but because I'm feeling paranoid I've got myself all worried I'm leaking amniotic fluid now.

I called the midwife but the duty lady was useless and admitted she normally only deals with full term pregnancy so doesn't really know much about it. She did offer me to go to a clinic at a different hospital to normal but I am loathe to do that if I'm just being paranoid.

The leaflets they gave me did say to expect some leakage for a few days but that a gush would be something to worry about. I've not had a gush.

I'm being paranoid aren't I?!

She did advise me to wear panty liners for the rest of the day to try and guage just how "wet" I actually am so am doing that.

Does the worry ever stop?!!!

I haven't had an amnio so have no experience of what it can be like afterwards - hopefully someone will be along who does.
But if you are worried and in light of the fact that it is the weekend coming up and staff will be less available maybe just go to hospital and get them to check you out? Don't worry about being paranoid - better to be sure and have your mind put at rest.

Yes, it just seems to be one horrendous stress-point after another, doesn't it!

Glad your fears have been allayed though.

Glad things seem to have resolved. I think we've let ourselves in for a lifetime of worrying!!

Glad you are ok- it's really hard to stay calm. Don't forget the chances of anything untoward happening are really slim. I had the procedure, and I know it's a really difficult time. Put your feet up and try to relax.
