Hi all,

Would love to join, got a BFP this morning and the ovulation calendar says the baby would be due on Jan 2nd.

Am a bit traumatised as we lost a baby on March 8th when I was 18.5 weeks pregnant, so we weren't even supposed to be trying again, and I know my doc is going to bollock us for not waiting. To be honest, we weren't really trying again, I'd had no period and didn't even know I was ovulating, so it just happened. But I reckon it must have happened for a reason, and I just hope and pray that we get to have a stress-free pregnancy this time, and not a total nightmare like last time.

Anyhoo, I look forward to sharing the journey with you all.

Hello to Louindevon, Cherrybaby and Margie32 lovely to have a page going. I though I was so on the ball with this pregnancy I'd be in a Jan 11 baby group on my own for a few more weeks.

Louindevon this is my 2nd and it will be a 3 1/2 year gap some of my antenatal group are on their third already so glad to hear from someone else who has a gap!

Cherrybaby Keep us updated on your test!

Margie32 sorry to hear that you lost your baby last month so sad, I'm hoping too that you have a stress-free preganancy this time, although if your like me you never be rest assured until the baby is born but we can all share our stressed on here.

I'm much better today which worried me as I was so ill yesterday but have a metal taste in my mouth so hopefully all ok still. It would be great to have a morning sickness free pregnancy so I should be grateful I feel better and maybe this pregnancy will be different.

Hi all and congratulations!

I got a BFP last Fri, EDD probably 1/1 (might be end of Dec) but I'm working on that date. Quite difficult for me to be precise as like Margie I've got pg straight after a mc mid March. Decided not to wait to try as I had a straight forward natural mc at 8 wks and there was no medical reason to wait, even the doctor admitted the only reason they like people to wait is to make dating easier. Seems a crap reason to me, I have irregular cycles anyhow so am never easy to date and we decided waiting would make getting over the mc harder so just went for it.

Margie - so sorry to hear of your loss, 18 weeks is a terrible time to loose a baby (no time is good of course but 2nd trimester is far worse). Its nice that there is someone out there going through pg after mc at the same time.

Cherry - My DS is the same age as your DD.

If all goes well this time it will be DC2.

Sending sticky vibes to everyone. xxx

Wow, this is great! I'm so desperate to talk to people about my pregnancy cos I'm now sooo excited, but can't! We want to keep it secret for as long as poss due to family issues and just to be sure.

Congrats to everyone!

I'm not that impressed with my due date, I had hoped for a summer baby this time!! My two other sons are 18th October and 27th January, and with 7 other family birthdays in Feb (inc. my own!), its certainly going to be an expensive time of the year! Ho hum, I guess you can't plan these things!!

I'm feeling fine at the mo, boobs growing daily (DH loves this!! ), not too tired and no sickness (yet!) My sickness with the other 2 started around 7 weeks, so just hanging on for that!

Speak soon!

Margie

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, it must have been devastating for you both.

Like you say, I'm sure fate has something to do with this pregnancy and I do hope everything will be Ok for you this time. I'm sure that they will monitor you very closely so you'll be looked after very well.

Congratulations and fingers crossed for a happy, healthy pregnancy and a bouncy baby on 2nd Jan next year!!

Hello Ladies, also due 31/12 but DS1 was a monster 18 days late so likely to be mid Jan!

May lurk for a while and return as I also lost LO at 12 weeks in Jan and found early losses tough on my antenatal thread.

Waves to all!

Does anyone feel witty and brave enough to start a Jan 2011 thread in the ante-natal section and we can migrate there en-mass. That is where the ante-natal buses appear to be but can't see one for Jan 2011.

(looks around as near impossible to do on wretched iPhone and I am techy crap)

Thanks Louindevon, I'm trying not to get too excited yet but I am also trying to think positive. Our last baby was 100% healthy when we lost him, I had an amniocentisis as we were high risk downs, and I lost him as a result of the amnio. The results showed he didn't have downs. So I guess it's a positive thing to think that we are capable of making healthy babies.

Playingatmotherhood it's great to find someone else in the same boat as me. I had also heard that they only say to wait after MC in order to get the dates right, which I agree is a pretty crap reason. I know what day implantation happened, as I spotted the bleeding, so hopefully that should help them date it properly.

Cherrybaby and Grouphug thanks for the sticky wishes and lovely to meet you.

I haven't really got any symptoms yet, apart from metallic taste (didn't have that last time). Oh, and I'm hungry all the time, but not sure I can really blame that on the pregnancy!

Hello girls and congratulations. Fingers crossed everything goes well for us all.

I'm thrilled I'm pregnant and I want to tell everyone, but boyf wants to keep it quiet for a while, so this is a great way for me to share my delightedness!

I'm due on the 1st January 2011.
I'm feeling hungry most of the time but that's probably cos I've given up the ciggies and I'm bored! Sometimes dizzy if I stand up too quick.

Cherrybaby, let us know about your test x

Feeling slightly nauseous today, blurgh! Have to go with my youngest son on a trip to Exmoor all day, which I feel is going to be a struggle....

Anyone recommend your foolproof ways of managing first thing morning sickness?

Report
stenogirl · 28/04/2010 13:41

Hi Louindevon, ginger snap biscuits worked for my friend, and I've even bought some so that I'm ready if I get morning sickness, although boyf has already eaten half of them!
I hope your day in Exmoor turned out ok in the end.
I'm feeling good today. Have a doctor's appointment set up for next Thurs.
However, I've got to stop reading some topics on this site as they're scaring me a little!

Hello - I got a BFP on Monday and due date calc estimates 1.1.11!! Very cool birth date.

It will be my first baby and I'm terrified. I don't really feel very different which is making my quite paranoid - boobs are sore and if I'm not screaming at DH then I'm crying or yawning. Other than that though, nothing.

I keep hoping to feel sick just so that I can feel different though I'm sure I'll be hoping and praying for anything but sickness soon. I'm trying not to think about the baby or bond with it in case it all goes wrong.

Very pleased to have found this thread though...

Hi everyone,

Nice to see more joining our number.

Those worrying about lack of symptons really shouldn't be worrying yet. Some people don't get any but most people don't get them (tiredness and sore boobs aside) till at least 6 weeks - 8 weeks, sometimes later. Plenty of time for sickness and believe me if you are really sick you'll soom be wishing it away. My nausea started at 6 ish weeks last time but I was throwing up 4-6 times a day from 8-16 weeks and had stopped being sick by 20 weeks. It was not a fun experience. I felt like I had a nasty stomach bug for 3 months and just wanted to crawl into bed not drag myself into work and pretend everything was ok. Still you get through it and I'm doing it again just over a year later so it can't be that bad

Margie - so dreadful that it was the amnio that caused your mc. Someone has to be the 1 in 100 but you never think that will be you. I hope you are doing ok, this pg is going to be very hard emotionally. At least there are 2 of us going through similar-ish things even if my mc was nothing compared to yours.

It will be my first and I'm a mixture of terrified and excited! No sickness yet but I feel so tired.

EDD 6th January here!

Yup, terrified and excited. First baby at 33, have two stepsons who will either be really pleased or will be emotionally scarred for life, feel sick as a sick thing. Only thing that cures feeling sick is eating.
I'm already round. I don't want to end up sofa sized.
