period pain-type discomfort despite BFP

2 BFP tests later have worked out am around 4 or 5 weeks pregnant, however I'm experiencing mild discomfort around my lower abdomen, which feels a little like mild period pains or as if my trousers are a bit tight - has anyone else experienced this and should I be worried?

I've had what felt like mild period pains in the early stages of both my pregnancies (DD now 20 months and am 34 weeks with DC2) if that helps

Me too! In fact I was sure it was a sign that my rather late period was finally on it's way. I got a bit of a shock. dd is now 6.

With my first I was convinced my period was on its way because of stomach cramps and sore boobs but was a beautiful little boy, who's almost 3! Continued for a few weeks after, its your uterus stretching and getting ready for the baby and is really quite common if you talk to a lot of pregnant women. Had is worse this time around, not sure why but I am now 19 weeks pregnant
Congratulations!!!

Don't worry, I had these cramps too. They are known as implantation cramps and are just your baby burrowing in and making itself comfortable If you are worried about it go and see your GP to put your mind at rest. I did and she felt my tummy and got me to do a urine sample. It showed up a mild urine infection, which are also common in early pregnancy, and might be contributing towards some of the discomfort.

Hope they ease off soon for you and congratulations by the way!

I have had this in both pgs, it's worrying I know but it's most likely just stretching. Mine has tended to ease off towards the end of the first trimester (to make way for SPD and round ligament pain instead )
Try not to be too anxious, cramping in the absence of bleeding is very common and usually not a problem. Congratulations.
