Edmund or Florian? - you decide!

ok. we have 10 days til c section for our twins. pretty sure we're gonna call the girl Cecily but still can't decide on the boy's name. I'm expecting some "neither!" answers but somewhere between those we need a decision from you cos we're getting nowhere and they could pop out any day now. Please help!

thanks. decision pretty clear so far but husband very set on Florian. will suggest Edmund Florian. (Good job we live in London - if we ever had to move back up to Hull area, are kids will so get beat up)

i dunno. i think any kid called Florian would be sure to get laid a lot when he grows up. your husband sounds like he's got his head screwed on to me - nice catch. also Edmund is a bit mock-Tudor

I know a (grown up) Florian and love the name. He is German though, what is the origin of the name/is that important to you? Agree with whoever said Edmund and Cecily go together better. Edmund will become Ed.

I've noticed a bit of confusion as to the pronunciation of Florian.

Most pronounce it with a flat 'o' sound as in Florid. But some English-speakers pronounce a long 'o' sound as in floor-ian.

I like the name though.

I like Florian although the only 2 I've known have been a drunk German philosopher and a sweet but prim, if that's not too odd to describe a boy, 6 year old. For a match with Cecily I'd say Edmund. Definitely consider Fabian though as I think it sounds really nice with Cecily and is quite similar to Florian.

Cecily just sounds to English to go with Florian hence saying Edmund, but Cecily and Fabian sound quite alternative and um hip? I know what I'm
trying to say...
