Would bad baby position cause pain?

36 weeks and got admitted to hospital last week for period type pain and back aches, suspected pre mature labour. All was well and got sent home, but I've been having intermittent period pains ever since, feels like the sort of stomach ache you get with diarrhoea, yesterday it lasted all day, today I've had it on and off and it's usually worse at night.

Doctor reckons pre labour but both my babies before this one were back to back and I'm wondering if this one might be too and it's that causing this pain? Didn't have it with the other two though.

It's been quite painful in my back when using the toilet (TMI sorry) for both weeing and number 2s today. I'm not constipated and was checked for UTIs last week.

It's bloody annoying now TBH and I'm not looking forward to possibly another 5 weeks of this! Any experience/advice before I turn into a gibbering wreck?!

hmmm it sounds an awful lot like how my labours started tbh! i would say perhaps it's more likely just your body getting ready for things to kick off?

not necessarily position though

not for me it didn't! but i didn't get it til about 39 weeks.

so, you're either going to have a baby imminently, or, it'll stop, or it'll carry on for 5 weeks

i am so helpful

I've just had this - 10 days of 'pre-labour' at 36/7 weeks. I was scanned and baby was in perfect position, doc reckoned he was imminent. Then one fine day he moved non-stop all night (causing quite a lot of pain in the process) and then settled down. I've now had several completely calm days, with little pain (he still pinches a nerve every so often) and no contractions. I'm almost 39 weeks now, which I didn't think I'd get to without going mad.

sounds reassuring (apart from the carrying on for 5 weeks).

Got awful back ache again today, but tis to be expected I suppose.

Oh well 5 weeks will fly by!
