i am 36+5 with DC3. The midwife arrived today to find me cleaning the front path. She was not that bothered when I said it's OK I am nesting, but the look on the student midwife's face was classic - almost like "I've read about this in books but this crazy woman is actually cleaning the path between her house and the street". She did say that if I wasn't pregnant she's think me mad.
And when DH came home he said, it smells a bit of swimming pools in here is everything OK? hmm, that'll be all the bleach I have been cleaning sinks, loos, cupboard doors etc with. I don't remember being this mad with the other 2. maybe it means the baby will come sooner? (wishful thinking )

Ah! I've been mad nesting since about week 25 or so (now 34). Have cleaned out every. single.drawer.and.cupboard in the house, given away a ton of junk, and made poor DH (I don't really feel sorry for him, but must pretend, I suppose!) a list of fix-it jobs to do every weekend (that we have been putting off for a few years or so). Yesterday I cleaned out the fridge and the freezer (actually removing the boxes and soaking them, cleaning behind spaces that never get accessed) and have bought so much extra laundry detergent/tinned tomatoes/soap, etc that I don't think we need to shop for about a year....

I don't actually think I'm crazy, though, just organized. (Is this the first sign of serious craziness, though, I ask myself?!)

Glad I am not the only nester. I have cupboards full og cleaning stuff that I never usually buy and lots of e-cloths as I try to be eco friendly. But also lots of bleach. Hope baby comes soon as not sure how much cleaner we can get!
Now DIY is another matter altogther, We did lots pre DS but this is DC3 and DH is not on for DIY anymore!!
Good luck with rest of you pregnanacy

I'm sure I read here about a person who carefully cleaned out her cupboards and pans, then placed each one back in it's own tupperware box

Now that's extreme nesting.

Cleaning the path? That's not so bad - in Spain they mop the public path outside their houses (I think that it was obligatory under Franco)

I didn't nest much with ds, but have to say have done a fair bit of it this time. I am 29 weeks and bake like a mad woman. Beginning to slow down a bit now though...

I'm sooooooo jealous!!! I want to gut our house but my SPD won't allow it - how crazy am i then.....I;ve done cleaning in secret so DH doesn't tell me off!!

I have also bought a ton of cleaners, toilet freshners etc and filled cupboards and freezers. You'd think I was going away for 6 months not hospital for a couple of days...and its not as if the tesco up the road isn't open 24 hours
