Accidently bleached maternity coats, should i get another at 36.4 weeks?

I just decided to brave the outdoors with my partner in the garden. I put on both my maternity coats because I'm a wimp in this breezy weather we're having. Just before I went out my OH suggested we sterilise the rabbits bottles. I didn't realise it was bleach and when I opened the bottle its splashed my lovely coats! I'm so annoyed now I don't have a proper coat to wear for the next 3/4 weeks. I'm sure I could wear a few layers but it's not the same is it? I was wondering; Would any of you bother to buy a new coat at this late stage?

Can you not dye it? I wouldn't bother its getting warmer now anyway.

Will dye cover up the bleached (sp) areas too?

should do - although need to wash first to get rid of all traces of bleach. might need to dye it a dark colour eg navy or black. But if unwearable now then worth a try?

I wouldn't bother buying a new one unless you can find one on ebay. V. annoying for you though.

They are already going round in the washing machine as we speak MumNW. I think we've some black dye somewhere, I'll have to give it a try. Tis very annoying franke, seems too late to be buying clothes now, even if I got a coat cheap it just seems such a waste. We could do with some sunshine.

It seems crazy to buy one now. Can you not make do with a non-maternity one that you already have?

I never bought a maternity coat, in fact I don't think it ever occurred to me to buy one.

Thanks for all the replies. Took them out of washer and the bleach spots are whiter. One of them isn't too bad and my partner thinks a bit of artistic licence with a marker may just cover them up enough to get away with. The other coat isn't great though. I suppose as long as I have one that'll do for the few weeks I've left. Thanks very much for the offer Mrs badger, I think I'll just see if anybody makes any comments first. Right, off to see if I've got a pen to match the colour!
