Gagging to get up the duff. Happened immediately last time. But gagging to go skiing this winter too. Could be our postponed honeymoon.

I wouldn't but am regular wipe out type, don't think I could enjoy it if I didn't hurtle about in uncontrolled frenzy
If you are sedate cruiser then fine I'm sure!

flum,

i went skiing in week 4 with first pg (although i didn't know at the time that i was pregnant) and in week 5/6 with second pg (now 29 weeks ). i had no problems, but then i didn't fall over very much. i was maybe a bit more cautious the second time round as i knew. the only difference it made to my holiday was that i didn't spend too much time in the sauna and that i spent half an hour a night on the internet in the hotel reception checking out mumsnet!!!!! how sad?!!! .
i wouldn't plan to go skiing if i was already pregnant, but having done it twice v v early, i didn't find it a problem.
next question - bubba will be 4/5 months by the time we would normally go skiing next year - is there any point in going?

Yeah I reckon I could take it easy for one year if I was duffed up. I love those cruisy reds any way.

If baby is 4-5 months I would say go. Mind you we went last year and ours was 10 months. We were very lucky though as my non-skiing parents came for the week and looked after her and went sight seeing and stuff.

Would yours or his parents be willing to do that?

If not can you afford to hire a nanny for the week?

Or a creche? lots of French places have creches.

we have been to lapland for the last two years (lovely and quiet, if a bit cold!!) and i don't think the resort's creche takes babies that aren't clean and dry - so certainly not a 4 or 5 month old. we were thinking about asking bil and his wife as they like skiing and then we could share childcare. haven't asked them yet though.

I carried on running (with Dr approval) until I was 5 months pregnant..I think I would ski (gently).

I went skiing when I was about 4/5 weeks pregnant earlier this year.

I was a little extra cautious and I only fell over once which was OK.

I asked the Doctors advice before going and he said it should be fine - no reason to avoid it, just to take things easy.

I was knackered though - had to have a snooze before tea each night coz I was so exhausted!!!

I've skied in early pregnancy - first time at 6 weeks and second time at 11 weeks - and was fine. I was much more cautious second time around for some reason, and don't think I fell over all week. Be prepared to feel very tired though - the odd afternoon with your feet up in the sunshine drinking hot chocolate will do you no harm!

I skied up to 20 weeks with ds - and only stopped then because there was no snow after that - with no problems (other than finding ski gear to fit!). But then my real life alter ego happens to be a qualified ski instructor and I'm well able to pootle about without really being in any danger of falling.
