Anyone else really struggling with the pressure of the baby on their pubic bone?

I am 38 weeks today and last night I could barely walk cos of the pain everytime I changed legs. I am on my third baby and never had this with the other two and I cant say maybe it means this babys bigger really cos my others were 6lb 8oz and 8lb 6oz but I never had this unbelievable pain in my pubic bone.

Or do you think maybe its because I am on my third baby, I am only 8 stone and 5ft 7 when not pregnant so maybe this third pregnancy is just taking its toll on my pubic bone?

Anyway, anyone any ideas how to allieviate it? I've got to walk quite a way tomorrow to see my consultant at the hospital and if I feel like this tomorrow its going to absolutely kill me walking there.

Oh Yes me, but I've had SPD since about week 0, and am now 40 weeks! Please try to get a wheelchair 2mo at the hosp consultant instead of walking, it really does make it worse.
Ice it tonight for about 10mins to numb it, or if you can go for a bath then do that. Take paracetomol, it might take the edge off the pain - but if it does, don't let that small lessened pain feeling allow you to think you can walk tomorrow, going by my exp it will honestly be worse afterwards. Take it really really easy - Not long to go now for you and hopefully staying off your feet will help.

meant to say - think it's your luck of the draw if you get it or not, and not sure connected to your weight or anything else - this is my first baby and been pretty bad since the beginning!

Happy can you possibly get a lift or a taxi to the consultants appointment? it really isn't worth walking all that way, it'll take you ages and you'll be in even more pain tomorrow.

I had spd from 11 weeks til the end in my last pregnancy, could barely walk the last few weeks, yet this pregnancy I'm 27 weeks and it has barely affected me so far as long as I don't go for a long walk or do something silly like walk on my knees.

Tips for how to deal with it, well, just rest as much as possible and don't do much walking. I know it's a bit crap but really, any walking you do aggravates it. Also keep your knees together as much as possible (for example when getting in and out of the car or bath, don't put one leg up to shave etc)

Silky pyjamas or sheets can help you turn over in bed if you find that a struggle, and being adequately supported with pillows etc in bed can help too. One under the bump, one between your knees should help.

I didn't find that paracetamol helped much, but a hot water bottle can take the edge off. Luckily after the birth most women find it goes quite quickly, although you may be left with a small amount of residual achiness around the area after walking.
