before everyone jumps down my throat!! i've been dieting quite successfully for a while now and have lost a reasonable amount of weight. i now find i am pregnant. very early still, so trying not to blab to the entire world about it. my question really is whether it si safe to continue following the programme i have been.

it is slimming world, which is a diet that generally allows you to eat as much as you like of certain foods (all the healthy ones, fruit, veg as well as pasta, spuds etc) and limits the others (2 slices of whmeal bread a day for e.g.). i think is is a pretty healthy diet so i'm not sure if i could carry it on while i'm pregnant. i am not seeing my doc for a while to discuss the preg and i'll raise it with her then, but in the meantime am i safe to continue?

for extra excitement i tend to suffer from vomiting throughout pregnancy, though it hasn't started yet. i am only 3 weeks though!

any advice gratefully received.....

Raise it with the class leader next time you go.

If you don't feel you can have a quiet word with him/her, say you're trying to get pregnant, and ask for advice for when you are.

i would stick to healthy eating but up your calories a bit if you are prone to puking.

i've lost loads of weight in this pg, not intentionally, i just have no desire to eat and have to choke my food down.
i'm sure its not a good idea to diet in pg as the baby takes all the nutrients and will leave you drained.

I think Slimming world is one of the ones that has a programme for pg women. Have a chat with the leader and congratulations

yep you can do sw while pregnant, there is a form that your midwife fills in every time you see her but you do the eating plan exactly the same as you normally would.

i had lost loads of weight with sw and i stuck with it until i was 15 weeks pg but then the MS was so bad i could only eat plain crisps and so i thought sod it, ill just damn well enjoy this pregnancy and go back once the baby is here

good luck with it.x
