What do you call your baby bump?

When I was really suffering from morning sickness I kept refering to the bab as 'the gremlin', which I am now feeling rather guilty about! I am now waiting for another more affectionate name to come to mind. jsut wondered what everyone else refers to their baby as, if anything at all.

I called DD1 'Bubbles', not sure why. I can't remember if I called DD2 anything or not

DS was Ricicle. We found out we were having him at the point when he measured the same as a grain of rice.

DD was Seedling ditto for Grape seed

Current pregnancy is Tapioca - for similar reasons.

Hope DS ( who's now 4) works out that Tapioca will not be called Tapioca post birth.

I found it really helped to give him/her a name and a gender even if it didn't correlate to reality.

really boring here, DS1 was bump and currently at 35+5 DC2 is bump as well.

DS1 is only 19 months and refers to bump as 'bump' too

Hey Arcadie

That's funny we call my bump ricicle too for the same reason. Even though he is now much bigger (am 18 weeks) we still call him ricicle!

At the moment it is teenie weenie beanie to reflect it's proportions Not quite 5 weeks yet so very very early days. After 8 weeks DP and I have decided it will be promoted to beanie. After that we don't dare dream yet.

Its called "Boo" can't remember reason.

DS was called "Nano" because found out I was pregnant around the time of the ipod nano launch! But when he was born DD wanted to call him Baby Nano.

DH and I spent some time speculating on the cruellest first name we could give DC1 - we share a dodgy sense of humour - and concluded it would be one that rhymed with our surname, in the style of Mark Clark or Richard Pritchard (obv not our real surname, and the first name that rhymes with our surname was much funnier than Mark). So we started calling the bump 'Mark'. Then at a scan we found out it was a girl, and changed Mark to a fictitious female form, a la Markella. We even called her that for a while after she was born until her real name became her identity.

Hate twee nicknames like 'beany' etc.

We refer to baby as "bababump" - nothing too inventive! Haha!

my dss's first sister (his mums first dd with her new partner) was known as "beans", 3 and a half years later she is still "beans", in fact she is never referred to by her first name ever.

in 18 years time no doubt she will still be "beans" and probably not loving it very much at all

Our bump is called Baby Boo - though now we know the sex the girl's have started calling her by her name-to-be.

Sproglet - just came out one day and has stuck - both my mum and MIL are reffering to bump as Sproglet - I fear like 'Beans' it may well stick now

DS was known as Bobbin - from a rubbish computer game called Loom - the character was called Bobbin Threadbare. Now DS has decided that this bump is called Bobbidy! It took us weeks before we could call DS by his real name!

pipinmybelly we call ours Pip too - for the same reason (we must read the same book).

DH has said it will be weird giving Pip a real name once its born, as to him, it is Pip.

Don't really refer to it as anything

I suppose this one is 'the baby' (even though only 14w) because that's what the dds are calling it

It doesn't really feel real to me until I can feel it moving around properly

Number 1-Lumpy
Number 2-Jumpy (He was bouncing about during the 12 week scan.) That one really stuck.
Number 3-NewBaby. (Bumpy would have been neater, but NewBaby it is.)
