I Had Hyperemesis with my DD and am worried that I will get it again if we decide to have another baby. I really want another one but It has put me off thinking about how ill I was before. Anyone not get it again after one child?

Sorry, but I had it with both pregnancies.
I had a hard time at the beginning of my first pregnancy. My younger brother died in a car accident on the day I found out I was pregnant. When I developed hyperemesis, I thought it was a reaction to that.
But I did get it again with my second child.
People have no idea how ill it can make you feel. I got really upset with people saying it was just morning sickness, or that old chestnut about pregnancy not being an illness.
Fingers crossed you don't get it again.

I had it first time round, am 8 weeks pregnant, and being sick quite a bit, but not as bad as the last time... yet. Fingers crossed.

I just saw this !

I had hyperemesis all the way through last time. I'm eleven weeks pg with my second now and have felt pretty awful but nowhere near as bad as last time. Not even in the same ball park.

My biggest fear was not being able to look after DD and I have been able to... but have let the housework and cooking go to hell!

I know people who have and people who haven't. I don't know anyone who had it as badly the second time, although it does happen I know. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks all!

Maybe I shouldn't think about it too much and just get on with it and think about the end result. I am pleased to know that most of you have gone on to have more than one DC even with going through it the first time round!
