Hi 34 weeks with second baby. I think i look like i have dropped, cant really remember with first is this the right time to be dropping.

Also when do you usually pack your maternity home bags?

Due 23rd January and worried about house being to warm or too cold. Bought a room thermometer and read the books, its says the room should be 18 but when the room is 18 it does not feel very warm.

DD1 born in July so was constantly half naked as very warm summer 2006

Any advise will be apreciated

Thanks

I am 33 weeks and baby is regularly engaging and then popping out again.

This is my third winter baby. Baby needs one more layer than you generally. When checking if they are too hot or cold 2 fingers down the back of the neck will let you feel if they are warm or cold.
18 is freezing in my opinion and never bothered with a room thermometer. i just layered lots so i could remove add layers as i felt baby was cold or hot. Flannel flat sheets in moses basket are good as cosy and light enough to add more without adding loads of bulk. Get someone knitting for you cardigans are a god send.

Raindrop xx

I would go for a grobag designed for winter tnh, they kept my ds from kicking off covers. I second raindrops cardigans, when I was pregnant my mum had loads for me.. I was quite awful and thought my childs not wearing that.. God did he wear them every day!
I would start doing your baby bag soon I think I had mine done early, just as well as I ended up in hospital at 37 weeks 230 miles from home.

I'm due the day after you and i've just packed my bag.
Our heating is set at 18 - I don't think babies die of being a bit cold but they definitely die of overheating so I won't be turning it up - although 18 feels boiling to me at the moment ! I've got a few grobags in various togs.

Exciting isn't it. I desperately want to hold this little being that's been practising dance inside me for so long !

Thanks everyone some good ideas i hadnt thought about. DD hated her grow bag but it was summer and the next will probebly like one.

Winters are not as they use to be so hopefully wont worry to much about room being to cold or over heating.
When your in the home and they keep coming in and checking baby is warm enough even with baby grow, sleep suit, hat, mits and 3 blankets (and that was the summer) it worried me a little.

Thanks again x
