For the past week or so i've been having some tummy pains.

First of all I noticed that when i'm out and about walking, if I walk slightly fast I get a pain like a stitch low down on one side of my uterus.

This has happened a few times and the last time it happened it was like a stich at the bottom on both sides. If I carry on walking really slowly it eventually goes but then comes back a few minutes later. Obviously if I stop walking all together and sit down it would probably go altogether but I can't do this when i'm walking from A to B.

The other pain I am getting is most noticable when I am just sat down relaxing. It feels like mild to moderate period cramps all over my uterus, sometimes I can feel it at the back also. I keep getting this on and off a lot of the time, especially today. I've got it now nad have had it most of the evening.

I have read a few threads on braxton hicks but they all say BH aren't painful and both these pains i'm getting are painful, not so much the crampy pain, thats quite mild but the stitch thing really hurts.

Advice appreciated, am a little worried.

Oh forgot to say, i'm not noticing any tightening with these pains. Have prodded my tummy and it just feels normal.

If your having regular pains you need to go to the hospital.

It's probably nothing but there is always a chance it is something.. Better safe than sorry.

The midwives would much rather see you than not, I promise.

If you are worried at all call your maternity unit.

I have delivered at 26+6 and my "rules" for second pregnancy were more than 4 contractions/pains/tightenings per hour and I had to be seen.

please call unit and go get checked. Might be a UTI, they can be very painful, butthey can also set off pre term labour. Better safe than sorry.

BTW

I did go in in second pg. I had a lot of tightenings (not painful). At one point I was having tightenings every 30sec (!!!) but nothing came of it. Turns out I had an irritable uterus - and I had load and loads of BHs. They would be triggered by a full bladder, baby moving, midwife prodding, diahrroea, dehydration, farting .

However - better to be checked than ignore it.

Sorry if my message was a bit short. I'm on my bloody iPhonetyping us a huuuuge effort lol.

Seriously though, phone the delivery suite and chat to the midwives. You might have a uti or somthing.

I don't know, I don't want to cause a fuss over nothing... I wouldn't say i'm getting regular pains, just a constant crampy feeling.

I had wondered about a UTI, I have been doing little wee's quite frequently but no pain like when i've had cystitis before at all.

I have assumed it's just cause i'm in 3rd trimester though and baby might be pressing down more on my bladder.

You don't necessarily have classical UTI sympoms in pg.

Better to check than not. Just call the maternity unit. A MW will have a telephone consultation with you before deciding if you need to go it. That is what they are there for.

well maybe it is but if it has bothered you enogh for you to sek some reassurance on here then a quick call to unit won't take long.

Or try warm bath and couple paracetamol.

Might phone the midwife unit, they are nice, I just feel a little silly.

you'll feel better when you've spoken to them.

Hope all is well.

It does sound like a uti and if if is you really need to speak to a mw and get some antibiotics. Utis can make you go in to labour.

Guernsey - everyone is different. The cause of the pains in Daryl could be different to you. You need to see your own MW....all the advice on this thread relates to you (and anyone else) too.
