I have had a ticky cough for about a week. It's now got to the stage where it really really hurts either side of my stomach when I cough-i'm assuming ive just pulled muscles...that's what it is isnt it? No danger to the baby is there?

I've got an awful cough too, coughed so much last night I threw up. My stomach is aching at the sides, but baby is fine in there, don't worry.

It's horrible when you have a nasty cough I have one at the moment too, feels like I'm straining everything. Also seems to have an effect on my bladder too....

the baby won't come to any harm because the abdominal pressure caused by coughing - the strain my stomach muscles have had with wretching/vomiting and straining against dreadful constipation has done no harm at all - although my pelvic floor has taken a hammering

It's so much more difficult to cough when you're pregnant, isn't it? It's bound to strain all your muscles. And of course you can't take cough mixture. I recommend making some hot lemon and honey, it's probably the only thing you can take and it helps a bit.

I've had a cough for almost 6 weeks now - it's painful and tiring but no worry to the baby (tho s/he probably feels like s/he's on spin in the washing machine!)P The main problem I find is not weeing at the same time!!

so glad to hear it's not just me with the weak pelvic floor . am just getting over a cough and i had to wear panty liners, i've never leaked before. as my cough is gradually going, i'm finding i'm not experiencing the same wee-ing problems (thank god)!
