Pregnancy

7 weeks and Cramps - reassurance please!

I am 7 weeks pregnant today! Had two good scans already with a visable heartbeat.

Last night and today I have had mild period pains type cramps. I am starting to worry. No more scans scheduled until 12 weeks.

I am not very well, viral infection in my throat so coughing and throwing up a lot. Also not been to the toilet (no2) for a few days which could be causing the cramps!

is/did anyone else have cramps like this at this time?

Had all sorts of aches/pains/cramps up until about nine weeks -- it's perfectly normal.

And constipation can cause all sorts of discomfort in the lower abdominal area so I wouldn't worry.

A good strong heartbeat is a great sign that things are progressing exactly as they should be.

xxxxx

thanks both, hard not to worry with 7 mc's behind me.

Cramps have eased now. If they are still there after the weekend i think ill give the midwife in the EPU a ring x

Julezboo, I know you are going to worry whatever but I have had stomach cramps all the way through with this pregnancy and after two fairly recent miscarriages myself I was really concerned. All is well, I'm now 20 weeks and the cramping is only just easing off.

The cramping was at times really strong and felt very definitely like period pain, although early pregnancy played havoc with my bowels.

Good luck, I really, really hope this all turns out to be your baby growing and causing you stretching pains.
