Bump Belly Cast, anyone done one?

Has anyone done one? This will be my pregnancy so thought it might be a good way of remembering just how big I am.

Is it something you can do on your own or do you need help?

I did one at 39 weeks - it was hilarious fun, although very, very messy. I recommend getting your partner / a very good friend to help because I don't think it would be possible to dunk the bandages, squeeze them and put them on yourself.

My belly cast is still knocking about 1.5 years after we did it, but I do keep thinking I have to get rid of it soon - it is really pretty useless. Is amusing to 'put it on' sometimes though, just for the amazement factor at how huge I was.

Do it. Worth it for the laugh - but do it somewhere wipe clean, or put down LOTS of newspaper

I did this. Well DH did it for me. It was summer and I started overheating and nearly fainted. So make sure you don't get too hot doing it.

I did one at 39+5, OH had to do all the wrapping and smoothing out while I sat feeling very strange! As the bandages start drying I found it a bit claustraphobic but was worth doing. Its currently sat in the nursery waiting to be painted, havent a clue what we'll do with it though

I did this for my best friend last year when she was pregnant.

She loved it, it was fun and the result was lovely. Admittedly unless you live in a loft type apartment with not much furniture, all white walls and lots of modern art about the place it might look a bit out of place stuck up on the wall and will probably end up in a cupboard or the loft.

I bought this from ebay so it wasn't expensive.

Wow, I had photo's done in a tight black dress for my first pregnancy and was umming and ahhing about getting some nudey ones done for my last, anyone had those done ?

I found a website selling them and one of the ideas for uses was a fruit bowl

I like the idea of being able to remind myself of how bloody massive I am now so hopefully wont want to do it again!

It's a nice idea, but I saw someone doing one on TV the other day and it just looked like Eric Bristow, which put me right off. It was her 9th child, though, and she was slouching quite badly.
