Miscarriage at 7 weeks and burning C Scar

Hi,

My body hit the rejct button this weekend at 7 weeks. I've seen the GP but I'm sore and still worried. Can anyone provide advice on

  1. Is the miscarriage complete? I've had heavy bleeding but nothing that could be described as tissue or similar. Should I brace myself for more to come?

2.My c section scar is burning . My GP said this was due to womb being sore and to come back in 2 days if it hasn't settled. Has anyone else felt this and if I ever get pregnant again will it be an issue? I haven't put on any weight so the amount its had to stretch is minimal.

Thanks. I sense I may ahve to go back to the doctor but that's another day away of worrying..

I'm afraid I don't have any advice for you but wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss.

Look after yourself during these difficult days, I'm sure someone will be along soon who can answer your questions.

Tomsslave - I'm sorry you're going through this.
I had a MC recently at just over 7wks. After bleeding quite heavily (though not one-towel-an-hour heavy, iykwim) for a couple of days I passed a large clot and a lot of tissue that looked very much as if it was the placenta (so I assume it was). I don't mean to distress you but it was grim - you need to know that I think, because I really wasn't prepared for seeing quite so much "product" at only 7wks. Make sure you stay at home and if at all possible have someone at home with you.
The only way to confirm that any MC is complete is to have a scan at the EPU - perhaps call your GP's surgery for their number if you don't have it already.
I didn't feel any pain on my C-scar but it's very old (9 years) so I guess that's be unlikely.
Take it easy - and apologies if I'm sounding brusque. Take care x

I have a 4 year old C-section scar and have had 2 miscarriages this year (12 weeks & 6 weeks). My scar got more itchy than burning. During the 12 week pregnancy I dont remember it being an issue and I had expanded enough for maternity trousers, friends who have gone full term with scars have never mentioned it as being an issue.
On the bleeding front at 12 weeks there is A LOT of tissue, but at 6 weeks more like a heavy period, so I guess you are some-where inbetween. Just be aware if you get any cramping, to stay at home for an hour or two as chances are there its your body getting rid of another lump of tissue (sorry to be graphic, but its what I learnt)

Best of luck and commiserations

Thanks for the messages. I actually ended up in hospital as my blood pressure dropped significantly and I had pain down one side- so suspected ectopic. It wasn't thankfully -just anaemic and run down. Back at home now, taking it easy. I have to say the hospital was great - god bless the JR in Oxford.
