Drinking raspberry tea while pregnant and other herbal remedies

I'm 33.5 weeks pregnant and have bought some raspberry leaf tea to drink. I've heard it makes the 2nd stage of labour quicker, but was interested in other's thoughts/experiences in using raspberry leaf tea.

Also, are there any other herbal remedies that would be beneficial? I've heard arnica is good for post-natal recovery and fenugreek is good for milk production, but has anyone got any other ideas? Thanks.

FWIW I have taken the Rasberry Leaf tea capsules in the last two pregnancies and used the birthing ball in the last 3months.. bouncing on it.. and my second stages were fast.. Not sure if it was the tea , the ball or just the way things go for me.. But not taking anychances.. will be using them all again this time.. Will start tyhe rasberry leaf tea in 6 weeks once i get to 34weeks I think it is..

HTH xx Good luck hun xx

I drank a lot of raspberry leaf tea from about 34 weeks onwards and my second stage was 10 minutes. No idea whether there's a link but I quite liked the stuff so will drink it again second time round.

I took arnica post-natally as well and my third degree tear healed well and I wasn't as sore as I'd have expected. Again, no idea if there's a link. I'm not generally convinced by herbal remedies but I figured it couldn't hurt to try them (in these cases).

I drank one cup of raspberry leaf tea at 36+6 and my waters broke the next day. Sure it was just coincidence but I will be too scared to drink it any earlier this time round!!

I drank loads of rlt in the late stages and my labour was logged as 2.5 hours

I also took some evening primrose oil capsules (orally, I didn't insert them anywhere else!) from 38 weeks iirc.

Also a fan of the birthing ball, but it was comfort as dd was engaged from 31 weeks and sitting anywhere else was getting tricky.

Now this may well be luck, but I'll not be taking any chances and plan on doing the same this time around!
