Anyone Else Due Date Today!.....Or Overdue!

Hello Ladies! IM 40 weeks today! i never thought this day would come and now i cant believe its going to carry on!

Ive not had the best 9 months and im really ready for this baby, keep being told by various Midwives its going to be big! by others thats its not! Im slowly (as is everyone else on Mnrs!) going insane! Is there ever anyway of actually knowing!???

Im am a bit worried bout and and i know that worrying will only delay labour but it so hard!

So what is everyone doing to take their mind of things - if thats possible

Im going xmas shopping today, in hope my waters break in a crowded shop! Ive also been drinkg rasp leaf tea, tried nipple stimulation with breast pump and eaten a whole pineapple on midwives advice yesterday!

If no baby by Monday im going to be ref to consultant which i really dont want cos want to this as naturally as possible

Hi Wishing

Can I join you - my due date on Saturday, so not quite overdue yet, but had expected something to happen this week, as am much bigger than last time round, it's my second and thought it might be a bit earlier....but no sign as yet. Am also finding it all very frustrating as although there are plenty of things I could be doing while my mum is here to help with DD, am just too big and achy to do them - so would rather get on with things.

Think I'm going to try a reflexology session to see if that helps - if nothing else, a bit of relaxation. My current annoyance is going to bed at night and wondering if anything's going to happen....and then nothing happening. Not even the merest sign although clinging to the thought that I had no signs with DD until labour started and she turned up 12 hours later.

already had one phone call asking what I was still doing answering the phone .
I just cheerfully reminded them that it could be another two weeks yet

I'm not impatient yet though, still feel like I have too much to do before they're here!

hi ladies, thanks for posting!

Im still here...to which everyone seems to be amazed! Like you lifeofkate i have never had so many calls or texts in one day! AND utter shcok from some people when i even dared to go out on my due date!

Well bubba seemed to be teasing me yesterday as at one point xmas shopping seemed to kickstart things, i got some awful painful twinges in Ikea and toys r us! and very excited! They whittled away though!! !
So im still waiting, tjhough my mum does think its on the way and will be here before mon! Got everything crossed! Got quite irritable yesterday and even more so this morning, really sniffly as well....but pottering around doing a few jobs that i still have to do, and might go for a walk in a while! Wish i was as patient as you lifeofkate but i think im just agitated cos im worried its just getting big in there! I know how you feel lackingnickname im really uncomfy now and not getting best night sleep but i know that im prob getting more now than i will!

Hmm, 3 texts and 6 emails today...but no other progress. Are you not just tempted to say 'oh yes, I had it yesterday, sorry, forgot to mention'......

Am trying to resign myself to being overdue and then hoping I won't be - also think the tempting fate option is going to come into play now, so busy plotting nice things to do next week.

im also fed up of false alarms, ive decided today that im going to end up going to see consultant on monday and might as well start getting used to it!

I tried to plan stuff for this week to keep me occupied but its wierd you just kinda think oh is that a twinge i better not do what i was going to do!

I'm still pregnant... I think I'm not worried about the baby getting big as my bump is on the small side, and midwife doesn't think it'll be much above 7lb something.

Had some backache and period type pains in the night, but I know they can happen weeks before, so trying not to read anything into them!

Just made my mum cry, as I said I couldn't promise to tell her when I go into labour... is it just me who doesn't want everyone to know that I'm in labour?! Just seems like a whole more load of pressure!

Hi kate i wasnt worried as one midwife said mine wouldnt be much over 7lb but last one i saw said it was huge! i still dont think my bump is too big and neither does anyone else but i think you just start to think allsorts!

I had cramps and backache allday yesterday and at about midnite last night thought mild contractions had started, after an hour they were every 10 mins and i faded off to sleep expecting to be woken when they got more intense but woke up this morning and nothing!

I keep getting people saying txt me when your in labour, im only telling my husband obviously and my mum and dad cos my mum will step in if anything happens to hubby!

I reckon by time i actually no im in labour letting everyone know will be the last thing on my mind!

I tried to say that by the time I knew, I might not be up to talking to (or even thinking about!) other people, but her solution was that DH can let her know . I just feel like it's a really private time, and unless she was actually there with me (which would be great, but she lives 3 hours from me, so not practical), I don't want other people thinking about/worrying about me when I'm in labour, and I don't want to feel worried about being worried about someone else worrying about me, IYSWIM?

If I go really overdue and have to be induced, I'll probably let her and my dad know, (it'll be hard for them not to know really!) but if it happens spontaneously before then, I'd rather just get on with it

I've decided that next time I'm going to tell everyone that I'm 2 weeks behind what I actually am to stop all this sillyness! It is annoying, I'm not in the least bit impatient myself, just fed up with other people putting pressure on!!

9 days overdue.

I was told yesterday 4cm dilated so he will arrive anytime now. but, not even a long walk can budge him.

I have given up trying. Will be induced on monday which will only mean having waters broken as so far dilated, so hopefully won't take a long time after that. Have resigned myself sadly to the fact he is not going to come on his own.

Good luck for you though, you have time for him to arrive yet!

Ivre had a s&S today so fingers xd that works or i am booked in for induction next wednesday! which i really hope i do get to that stage!

I'm still here, but I'm really hoping not for too long. I also had a S&S yesterday, which went really well... midwife thinks it will all start happening in next few days as cervix was very favourable
Induction booked for next Monday (40+12), but she was joking with person she was booking it with on the phone not to expect me as I'd have delivered by then.
Bit of a show since the sweep, and feeling a little twingey, if that makes sense, but nothing too significant, think baby suddenly has stage fright .
Got lots of fairly active things planned today to see if we can get things moving (christmas decs, cleaning kitchen floor etc), although don't want things to move too quickly, as it's my wedding anniversary today!

It really has though, someone said that it would drag once I finished work, but the weeks have whizzed by, and I'm not sure how I found the time to go to work! I'll keep my eyes peeled for your birth announcement in a months time

Im due on Sat which i canot believe! Its come round so fast.

Im going mental waiting for a sign as this is my third and the first two had arrived by now!

First sweep was over 48 hours ago and nothing but bad cramps! Had another sweep yesterday that midiwfe did and have had lots of discharge since which i though was a good sign, also up most of night with cramps some REALLY painful but still nothing! Ive been booked for induction at 40weeks+14 which is next wednesday im slowly going insane! DH desperately wants it to put an appearence in but nothing seems to be shifiting it! really fed up now and really dont want to be induced but decided that thinks thats whats going to happen! im all doom and gloom today! Midwife said head was really low yesterday and was able to sweep right round it! Why does this baby insist on just sitting there it cant be comfy with its head stuck right down there!

Thought I'd come back and let you know I had my little boy Noah on 9th December... wvs induced in the end, but it all went really well. He is gorgeous!

Just to update everyone, a bit late i know but my waters broke all by themselves Sat 5th Dec...... and 6 hours late i had a little girl!

And ive not stopped since!
