Hi ladies.

Tried to call midwife but she is not there at the mo so thought i would post here while im waiting.

Yesterday i was fine, and decided to go on a mad cleaning spree before tea! I was cleaning upstairs, skirting boards bathroom toilet DD's room hoovering etc it felt great I noticed though that i was getting a bit breathless (after 2.5 hours lol) and hot so came down to have a rest while DD watched peppa pig. Then i got up to prepare tea and found i could hardly move i was so achey! I felt dizzy too and sick. Luckily DF got home soon after as i couldn't finish the tea, had to go and lie down! I was seeing spots in my eyes and felt really shakey. SO, had a lie down and got up and suddenly felt very strange and light headed so back on the bed i went Missed tea and my fave programmes Eventually got myself downstairs later on and had something to eat. Went to bed early with a bucket as i felt really sick.

I slept ok and felt ok this morning until now! I feel wiped out, sore throat and sick again. Bit headachey too.

Is this just the horrible bit about the last few weeks of pregnancy, or did i over-do it yesterday, or is it something serious?? Baby still very wriggly so hopefully she is fine. Any ideas? Sorry this is so long! Thanks for reading.

spots in front of your eyes can be a symptom of pre-eclampsia.

You must ring for advice immediately. Ring the maternity ward if your community midwife isn't around.

Do it now.

It sounds like a bug to me. Over doing it could make you breathless, gives you spots before your eyes, and even make you feel dizzy and sick, but I doubt it would give you a sore throat.

I have had an awful sore throat for days now, no sign of it going away still. It must be doubly awful to feel ill when so heavily pregnant. I hope you hear from the midwife soon.

Thanks guys. I dont have the spots at all today just last night while lying down. I didn't have pre-eclampsia last time and don't have any swelling so could it really be that? Im thinking now maybe it is a bug because of the sore throat and headache..hmm.

Will call midwife again i think. Thanks for replying.

Yes, it could really be that - I know many cases where it has happened after one or even 2 'normal' pregnancies.

The symptoms don't always all happen either. I had massive amounts of swelling in my first pregnancy, but with my living DS (my 2nd baby and pregnancy) I had no swelling, and in both pregnancies I had severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome but never had visual disturbances or headaches either time.

Get it checked out and be looking for 20 higher on your BP (either number) than your booking BP or what is usual for you.
