I'm jus gonna paste from my online diary.. Lazy I know hehe.

Well after having 3 scans where Kyle was right on target for growth the 4th one showed his growth had slowed down, I seen the mw and consultant today to discuss the findings of this scan. And although they didn't say it was anything to worry about, they did book me in for CTG monitering on Thurs morn & brought my next growth scan forward 3 weeks to next Thurs due to his dip in growth & dip in heartrate. Starting to worry a little now..
It all seemed very urgent.. like they made the CTG and scan appt asap & my mw even cancelled an appt she had for the Tues morn so that she could see me about scan. And she said if anything happens go straight to Triage.. There was a lot of emphasis on this.

Bit of background...

  • 34 weeks pregnant.
  • Bleeding from 18 weeks, twice or three times a week until 27 weeks.
  • 1 cm dilated, not sure of effacing, at 31 weeks & 4 days to present day.

I really just wanna know if anyone has been through this, or similar, and what the outcome was ?

Please don't read & run, every little helps!
Thanks in advance
P.s sorry for long post

I forgot to add.. my fundal height is also only measuring 31 weeks, which could mean he hasn't grown since my last scan.

Hi Ashley, I don't have any experience of this, but didn't want to leave you unanswered. Sure someone will be on in a minute with some advice. Hope you're ok.

Is there a reason you were having so many growth scans?

Sorry to hear of your troubles didn't want to read and run I had growth scans but all was normal or nearly normal.

As easy as it is to say try not to worry your 34 weeks right? if they decide to induce you early due to lack of growth generally they will give drugs to boast bubbas lung strength lots of babies are born earlier than 34 weeks and go on to be healthy.

They bring things forward to monitor they are doing it to ensure your best possible care for you and bubba.

Thinking of you x

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch - Yeah I've been getting growth scans every 4 weeks because of the bleeding, just to keep an eye on things.

As I said I have no experience, but if it was something to panic about then they would have admitted you then and there. It's easy for me to say try not to worry, and I imagine you're very concerned. Could you call your MW or GP and ask them what might happen? It sounds like you need real reassurance and we can only offer guess-work.

Yeah they said if anything isn't right etc then they may need to induce me early.. But I was jus curious how common this is and if anyone has had this happen & still go on to full term natural birth

Apparently growth scans are really inaccurate. I wouldn't worry too much. You are practically full term and if your midwife was worried she'd have you in hospital in a jiffy!
