post c section support belt

Due to have elective section next Tuesday, and am terrified of pain when moving for first few days / weeks afterwards as a result of memories from emergency section with DD three years ago.
Have heard about post section support bands, but they only seem to be available in US. Anyone any advice please?!

I've had 3 sections (2 elective, 1 emergency) and didn't need a support belt. Also IME I had less pain after my electives than after my crash section. You may find that it's better for you this time.

I would recommend regular painkillers - don't wait to feel pain but take them regularly so you don't get the pain. Hold a pillow against your tummy when coughing. Avoid becoming constipated and try and be mobile as much as possible without overdoing it. Ask to speak to the physio before you're discharged to get some advice on moving, getting in and out of bed etc.

Thanks Singed. Had heard things might be better if section was planned which was why I went for that option. Fingers crossed!
