Hi everyone, just looking for a bit of reassurance please...

I just fell down flight of stairs at home, luckily on my back (bounced/slid all the way down iyswim) so lower back, elbow etc absolutely throbbing but belly doesn't seem to be hurt...well slight twinginess on side that i was leaning towards but not painful as such, more like when I pull a muscle (which seems to be a regular occurance as bump getting heavier! )

However just been searching through similar old threads for reassurance & they mention there being more risk if your blood is rh negative? I'm rh- but did have the anti-D injection at 28 weeks (now 30 weeks), does anyone know if that should still be covering me for any potential problems?

Have felt baby move since I fell, gut instinct is that baby should be fine, just pain & shock for me, but thought I would check with you lovely mumsnetters for some extra peace of mind

I fell downstairs at 30 plus weeks and am rh negative. Actually fell after my fortnightly glass of wine so felt like a terrible mother . All was fine shes now a lively 3 year old. I wouldnt worry unless you bleed (very unlikely I would think).

I don't know anything about rh- I'm afraid but it might be worth calling your midwife just to be on the safe side.

I also fell down the stairs at about 34 weeks and bounced on my bum lol but still got checked out, luckily everything was fine.

Hope everything is ok and make sure you get to put your feet up for a bit.

I was rh neg too and I think that if you've had the anti-D injection there is no extra risk BUT I would phone your midwife if I were you. She'll more than likely just put your mind at rest anyway....

hi, not sure about the rh neg thing and this probably is not very reassuring but i fell downstairs at 30 weeks with my dd1. went to hospital (dh instructions!) to get checked. she was absolutely fine but they did pick up a few contractions on machine that i couldnt feel n gave me some med to prevent labour. sorry its not very reassuring but might be worth going and getting checked out

phone your MW team. If you have just had the anti-D jab you are probably still covered by it but phone them anyway to be on the safe side.

Thanks everyone, typical that happened on a friday night so MW (part-time) wont be working again til tuesday, always the way isn't it! Think I will phone my local maternity unit instead to put my mind at rest, better safe than sorry. Thanks again

Spoke to a midwife, she said I should still be covered by anti-D I had a couple of weeks ago & not to worry too much so long as no bleeding/pain to bump & still feeling baby move - if situation changes I need to phone back again obv. Now I just need to stop feeling so shaky & get used to the fact that I'm going to have a verrry stiff & sore back for next few days!!
