Braxton Hicks - What Do They Feel Like?

I know this question has probably been asked a million times, but experiences of these?

I didn't think I'd had any, but then I heard they can feel like the baby is pushing its head or feet out the side of your bump, which I have had quite a lot of, and stupidly thought it WAS the baby pushing its head or feet out the side of my bump .

Also how often did you get these at 30 weeks 6 days (or thereabouts), how many is too many?

Thanks again, its good to have somewhere to ask these questions!!

Braxton Hicks feels like a big tightening of your abdomen. I could bounce a golf ball off my tum when I'm having them!

They seem to get more intense with subsequent pregnancies - well, for me anyway.

I get loads particularly in the last trimester. It's annoying because they wake me up and stop me from snoozing when my DCs are at school/nursery.

I have been having BH since Week 17.
This is my third child, and they are really strong, in fact they ake my breath away for a couple of minute.

My bump goes superhard, my heart beat accelerates a little, and then goes back to normal. I'm having these about 3 times a day.

Don't remember them being that strong nor frequent with my first two...

My bump doesn't go hard all over, just in the one spot. Maybe it is little feet then!! Have had about 6 or so I think this morning with some kicks and wriggles in between.

LauraKB, I feel the same exact thing! I'm pretty sure it is the baby pushing against my bump, though. I feel an entirely different tightening sensation at times (usually when I'm walking or have otherwise exerted myself), which I've decided might be BHC... but this is my first so I'm as clueless as anybody.

I didn't have BH with ds, but i am now 40 weeks with dc2 and have been having bh for the past 2 weeks or so. My bump goes really tight and hard, and they have me puffing and breathing and rocking and hanging over the loo like real contractions LOL.
