hi all 31 weeks pregnant with 3rd child.
Today my bump has been really hard, not coming and going, constant. plus on right hand side of it, its quite tender to the touch. baby has been moving around ok. feel quite consitpated, have been for a decent poo in a week. ( can i take something for this?? ) also poo is black, ( sorry ) i am not on ironor anything. could the pain be the lack of toilet action?? any help would be great, started to get worried.
thanks

pain could well be constpation but as with anythingand ebverythingpregnancyrelated if it is no noral ad you are worried go and get cecked out, either in day assessmet unit, or being a sunday evening delivery.
don't feel daft. explain exactl what you have up there and they willcheck you over and give you a litle smethng to clear the blockage if that is the problem.

I am in v similar position at the moment, 31 weeks with 2nd baby and it hurts! Went to hospital at 3 am yesterday as I rang explaining I felt so many contractions together with pressure on my bottom. Apparently Braxton Hicks contractions hurt more with each pregnancy. I think the pressure relates to position of baby and this is a v kicky baby so maybe that was it. The hospital was very thorough in checking everything as I had a kidney infection a couple of weeks ago (when it was v v hot and air-conditioning in office had broken) and although the checks aren't much fun, it was very reassuring and I'm glad I went in.

When I was in hospital they asked me quite a lot about bump pain and tenderness and when I had kidney infection a few weeks ago top of my bump on both sides was quite sore.

The pain could be constipation but if you are drinking plenty and eating fibre and your poo is still black I don't know what that means.

I would go in to the hospital and get checked for your peace of mind if nothing else.

Totally not any kind of doctor or medical person but from my recent experience I wonder if it might be down to a bit of a urine or kidney infection so you may possibly need antibiotics. Not to scare you but I understand that a kidney infection is associated with early labour sometimes but mine just went away on its own through drinking water.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Black pooh can mean internal bleeding - rarely I might add, don't want to panic you!

Call your midwife or labour ward, it is worth checking these things out, I think at 31 weeks you are perfectly within your rights to turn up at labour ward and ask for some monitoring and a quick check over.

Good luck!
