Private scans - how much do they cost?

I've already started another thread on here asking if anyone had recorded their scan on their camcorder or bought a dvd.

My friend paid a sonographer to video their scan at an nhs hospital.

I have contacted mine but they said its not their policy ...

I really want to have a recording of my baby and be able to show his/her big sisters.

The hospital suggested I go for a private scan.

I am not sure how much these cost and do they include a dvd then?

I'd really appreciate it to hear from anyone who has done this and what part of the country you are in or if you know names that I could contact or google for more info.

Many thanks

This is where people go in my area (St Albans) - you can find all the prices on their website. Particularly as the NHS refuses to tell you the sex in case you fancy aborting it if it's the wrong sex!

We didn't have any private scans, but thought the prices would be useful. I would imagine that their prices are probably among the most expensive in the country as St Albans tends to be London prices.

If you Google "Babybond" they do various scan packages (incl some with a DVD) and are nationwide.

I go to Spire Hospital in Bristol (used to be Bupa) they do dating scans 99 and OSCAR 189. If you want like a 3d with a dvd I think companies like Babybond do such a thing, they are about 200-300 I think.

I live in the south west and my NHS hosptial no longer tell you the sex either. There are lots of companies who do this but am sure Spire would for the price of a further scan. I found out with dd only as I am very anal and I like to know exactly what is going on. Was not at all bothered which sex just so that I could know!!
