I bought some little bits just to remind me after 12 week scan. But I only just bought the last of the big stuff am now 34 weeks. But I started at 20 weeks.

I did the same and bought one wee cute item of clothing just around the time of my 12 week scan.. I did it as a reminder and to put a positive spin on things as I was worriing too much to believe it was all real.

After my 20 week scan which was a couple of weeks ago, I started buying a few small things and saw a good bargin on a couple of practical bits and bobs so bought them too.
For us we need to spread out the cost so it makes sense to buy a few things as we go along but I do have friends who really bought nothing till very near the end. Also good to wait and see what you get offered from friends and relatives

we atsrted buying after our 20 weeks scan and maybe a bit of sale stuff between 12 and 20 weeks( or real bargains on ebay)

In my first pregnancy, was v superstitious and didn't buy anything until 35+ weeks.

This time it seems silly when I already have loads of baby stuff stored in my flat, and have been buying since 13 weeks.

Woah, you've got ages yet! I'd wait to see what you get given before you splash out, especially on the big stuff.

I bought nothing but a small cute bib until after the 20 week scan. But we'd bought practically everything by 36 weeks.
One thing to think about is that as you get bigger towards the end you feel less like trailing around the shops and figuring out what you like/need. I spent ages finding out about cots and mattresses, choosing a pram and a car seat etc so I did all my "research", including trying things out in the shops, during the second trimester although we waited a little bit before we did the actual buying. Of course, if you're less fussy than I am it will make your life a bit easier

With my first, not until after the 20 week scan but then was pretty much done by 30 weeks including all decorating and cot and pram assembled etc. With my other pgs I don't think I bothered until 30 weeks or so.

I had a look at all the shops online. Then I drew up a list of what we'd need and what we'd like and had it like a wedding list for friends and family to use (if they wanted). The we didn't have to buy much (which I did last minute).
