pregnancy clothing what size?

I am normally a size 8. I have hyperemesis so currently not put on any weight anywhere apart from belly. My hipster trousers size 8 still fit with effort but are v tight a bit uncomfortable. Normal size 10 trousers are tight.

Last pregnancy I stayed in maternity size 8, well to be honest I wore my normal clothes for most of the pregnancy as I hardly put any weight on at all, but this time I am thicker around the middle.

So, do I go for maternity 8, or maternity 10? (am 13 weeks).

I'd go for maternity 10, but get stuff that is quite adjustable - I hated having stuff constricting me when pg.

I'd go for maternity 8, but try things on. Some brands allow for growth all over, so a 10 might be much too big unless you put on weight everywhere, which sounds unlikely.

I actually ended up getting a size or two smaller in lots of my pregnancy stuff last time, although clearly my legs and hips didn't shrink, they didn't grow either and I found 8s and 10s fine although I anticipated needing 12s.

One for each so far!!!

Last time i bought a lot of size 10 in anticipation of becoming huge, and they were always enormous for me, esp around the bum!!! But, with a wide waist, I do not want to be restricted too much.

I am buying online, from ebay in fact as it seems the only place I can find the right size length! Some nice seraphine ones going for a good price, also so mamas and papas too that look nice.

Tops are easy, I don't mind if they are a bit big.

I'm still in my original dress size (12) despite knowing very well I've put on an inch and a half round the hips. So I can only assume that maternity 12 is real-life 14, iyswim.

So on that basis - I'd go for maternity 8.

If you use the maternity exchange shop, they tell you whether it's a small or a big size and where it's big/small and that kind of thing, which I fould very useful. I got a few really nice things there - particularly there seemed to be my size double who had bought all her clothes in some belgian maternity shop, and they were lovely!
