Tummy pains at 5+3

I have searched the archives and seen that this is quite common, but have been experiencing an ache in my abdomen since before AF was due. It does come and go depending on what I am doing, but is fairly regular. I am mildly nauseous, have swollen boobs, and on occasion feel a little dizzy. I mentioned it to the GP last Friday and she did tested my urine (not sure what for) and said that as long as I wasn't losing any blood, it should be fine.

Am petrifying myself googling ectopics and miscarriage statistics. Does anyone have any experience of this in early pregnancy?

And will only be on line for another ten mins then off to collect dd from nursery, so please don't think I'm ignoring any responses.

TIA

I had cramp-y type pains at about the same time - am 12 weeks now so I don't think it was anything. Think it is common - something to do with it embedding. HTH

This sounds very familar, I have had cramping pains with all my pregnancies. Particularly very early on I was quite crampy, and it seemed to really ache at night. I think your uterus starts to get bigger in preparation quite quickly even though the baby is tiny.

Its only natural to start worrying about ectopics, but I would reassure yourself that this all sounds normal.

Good Luck

thank you for posting pink jenny - I am about the same as you (not sure exactly yet doc tomorrow) and especially in the evening I get real crampy sort of muscle ache pains

I have been worried sick so thank god two other people think its normal!

I am inherently paranoid anyway, but it's just so nerve wracking! Thanks to those who have posted, very reassuring!

Have posted on your other thread, and saw you comment at the bottom about this thread.

Yes I did, it was intermittent cramping pain, with really bad backache and frequent trips to the loo!

Urine test was probably just to check for a UTI, as that could give similar symptoms.

It's really difficult not to worry until you've had the reassurance of the first scan. Why not 'phone the community midwife or antenatal clinic for a chat? If it is causing you real worry they may suggest a visit to EPU for reassurance.

Aw thanks JoeJoe1977 [victim emoticon]

I was bleeding by this stage when I was pg with dd, so even if my tummy had felt like this, I would have just assumed I was miscarrying, as I didn't see her heartbeat until 7 weeks. I think I'll wait and see if the symptoms ramp up.

I love MN, but I wasn't a member in the early stages of my pg with dd, and all the sad stories make me totally neurotic!
