What does SPD stand for and what exactly is it?

Sorry for dum question but I have been really struggling with my back, am seeing GP on monday but this was mentioned by a friend and I wondered what exactly it is. I am 19 weeks pregnant.

Symphysis pubis dysfunction.

Basically the pregnancy hormones are loosening up your pelvic joints ahead of schedule. This normally happens so you can give birth, but for some of us it happens too early.
