Hot sore boobs at 22 weeks?

Not sure if they're just gearing themselves up for action or if it's something more sinister - they are hot and achy and the nipples especially are so so sore.

I'm feeling a bit peaky - you don't think it's possible to get mastitis while pregnant do you?

Maybe they're having a growth spurt?

Possibly... Seems rather dramatic symptoms for that!

I had similar symptoms when pg with DS1 - the doc said you don't normally get mastitis when pg but that's what it looked like. He sent me for a scan just in case, it's worth getting it checked out as pg hormones can exacerbate breast problems.

In my case it was nothing, just the milk ducts gearing up and getting in a flap, but do get it looked at.

hth.

I've got this at the moment had it since I was about 16 weeks or so, it's like bursts of super hot heat like I've got twin incinerators packed in my bra. They tend to be particularly painful in extreme temperature changes like when I come out of the shower.
I just assumed it was them getting ready for future action, as I'm not terribly well endowed up there so there's a lot of work to do!!

I'm 22 weeks and getting the stabbing pains etc. I have to keep rubbing them, which isn't very polite!

I had horrendously tender boobs around 22 weeks, lasted for a couple of weeks and then they settled down again. I reckon there's a hormone boost around this time. It felt like full on lactation was going to happen any second!
