Pregnancy

What is it normal to feel in early pregnancy? (In terms of sensations / goings on in uterus?)

Sorry if the thread title seems a little odd.

Basically, I was wondering what it is normal to feel at about 4 /5 weeks pregnant, in a normal, healthy pregnancy. I am asking as I have had 2 miscarriages, and this has blurred my understanding of what is normal, and I'm worrying about every twinge.

So - was your early pregnancy completely pain / sensation free? Or could you tell something was happening in there? I'm not really asking about pain... more of just being aware of a feeling of some kind. I can't describe it, but I definitely feel like something is going on.

I hope you all don't think this is a mad question!

Thanks

Not at all!

For me early pregnancy is a bit like being pre menstrual- twingy, bloated, mild period type pains but everyone is differnt and even different pregnancies in the same woman can feel different - so nothing can really be described as normal or not normal.

I wouldn't worry about twinges though - very common.

good luck - hope all works out for you

I definately had flutters/wobbles going on at around 4 weeks, sort of butterfly sensations, the odd very very mild cramp, touch of lower back pain. First time, I did not notice anything until I started being sick at 6 weeks, this time, belly a little swollen.

Congratulations!

Felt exactly like I was going to get my period at any moment. Bloating and quite bad period pains and back ache. Bad enough that if I hadn't known i was pregnant I'd have taken ibuprofen.

I agree with everyone else. Even had some light period like cramping, which was apparently the baby implanting. All completely normal.

Thanks everyone. I definitely felt the period pains etc around the time I was due. I'm 5 weeks now though, and feeling something different. Not pain at all. Just a sort of heaviness and occasioanal pull or tuggy feeling. Weird. I bet if I hadn't had 2 miscarriages I wouldn't even notice. I have lots of good symptoms - extra sensative nipples, sickness etc so I suppose that's good. As my name suggests, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again.

Actually it feels more like a little poking feeling. More like I remember feeling when heavily pregnant with DD before when I would be kicked or poked for real. Obviously that's not what's happening. Strange.

I'm in a similar situation. Have had two prev mc and now 6+5 with new pg. I have felt really crampy since 4 weeks but different to period pain although had period like bloating too. Hard to explain, it's more like waves of tightening??!! Very strange i know. I was convinced i was mc again as i had nothing to compare to other than my two mc. Also had a few days of light bleeding around 4-5 weeks. Scanned on thurs and everything ok so far which was big relief. Cramps are much better now too but like you say i am so tuned into every twinge because of previous mc. Good luck!!!

Hi Maybebabyfingerscrossed
I am on my 2nd pg, i had my first just over 13 years ago. I am in early stages of pg now and you don't get a pain/sensation free. I have flutters/pains now and again & lower back ache. I know everything must be as i am sick in the morning as soon as i get up, feeling very hungry all the time, can never decide what i do want to eat, change my mind once made something.
Hope everything goes ok for you. You really must stop worrying, i know it is ok for all of us to say that(you will be thinking) but it could happen to any one of us and there is nothing we can do tp prevent it, we all just need to use the correct method of none lifting anything, with yourself you must be careful with hoovering etc. And should not have intercourse, i read some where as i must not either as for having 3 threatened miscarriages in my 1st pg so being very careful what i do to prevent anything bad happening, we can all only try our best and looking after ourselves at all times

Good Luck, relax xx
