Feeling so down with MS

It's not that i'm actually throwing up much (I've only thrown up on three days and I'm eight weeks) but it's the constant nausea, trapped wind and dizziness thats getting me down. I have a 2yo DD who I have to be able to look after and I can barely cope with her. I'm also finding it really had to take my anti depressant because I'm gagging when i swallow the tablet. Is there anything that can be done to help me? If I make an appointment with my gp will he help me? I've not got round to registering with the midwife yet.

I SO feel for you! I am in the same boat - terrible MS for almost 2 months. I too have a 3 year old but fortunately he is in daycare and then when he's home - my DH takes complete care of him. STILL it is killing me that I cannot be around for my DS as much .

I do not need to tell you how important it is for you to take your anti depressant meds. Have you tried taking them at night, before you go to bed?

There are some remedies that help some women (not in my case) like ginger, sea sickness wrist bands, B6 vitamin. In my case I know that anything sweet makes me worse. So snacking on any dry and salty crackers helps a bit. Also drinking water but not in huge amounts. If I get too full, I get sick too. And naps (does your DD take naps?)Take them with her!

Good luck!!!

I just wanted to add my experience in the hope it helps! I posted on here 2 months ago as I was the same as you, feeling awful with debilitating nausea and a 2 year old to look after. I went to see my GP who was sympathetic and gave me a small supply of an anti-nausea drug - I think it was called metachlopramide? Anyway, I took one tablet before bed which helped me sleep through the night and therefore cope a bit better the next day. I also took ginger supplements - NICE guidelines are for 1000mg per day taken in 4 250mg doses, this is much more than just ginger tea or biscuits, and I also wore sea bands. The good news is that I am now 15 weeks pg and the nausea has subsided to a manageable level. Weeks 7-10 were the worst for me and it started to gradually ease off after that. I know lots of people swear by B6 or B12 but my GP said that too much is harmful, so you need to be very careful if you take supplements, only take them under your GPs advice.
This will come to an end, in the meantime try to get as much help with your DD as you can and as much rest as you possibly can. Hope you feel better soon.

MS is the pits. I have had it too for the past 6 weeks and feel like crying everyday, I feel so vomitous.

When I can, I get into bed.
