Hi can anyone give me some advice...I found out I was pregnant on 14th March, my last period was on the 14th Feb, which would have meant I was four weeks pregnant. The only problem is the test i took was not an early detection one, and the pink line came up so fast and so darkly coloured. This is my second pregnancy and when I was expecting my son the line was very faint and took almost an hour to come up at all until i was six weeks pregnant. The period i had was not an ordinary one, it was a pill period as i had been using contraception (but i did miss a couple as we were planning on trying for a baby so i wasn't too careful). I had an internal scan last week (27th March) where i should have been 6 weeks pregnant, but the scan said I was 8 weeks. I had another scan today (3rd April) and it said i was 6 weeks pregnant. How is this possible? A fetus can't shrink!! Anybody out there who can shed light on this?? I know I should have asked the sonographer but i didn't think at the time i was just glad everything was in the right place as they had suspected an ectopic pregnancy.

tringle did they use the same machine each time? Some are more acurate than others, also, there is a degree of human error involved, the sonographer has to click for the h/r length.

I suppose it possible that you are pregnant with twins tho and each time they measured a different one???

Don't worry i'm sure its more likely to be a human error issue!!

Thank you kitkatqueen, the first thing I thought was that it was twins!! Absolutely no history in either side of the family though!! It was the same machine and same sonographer each time, but they lost my notes from the week before when I went in yesterday. So maybe it was just a mistake on the sonographers part. Really annoying though because I still don't know my due date!! Looks like I won't know until I get my ordinary 12 week scan.
