Aaaah, I need help.

Today, I have eaten:

a big bowl of porridge
an apple
two slices of rye bread and two eggs
a big bowl of popcorn
a massive carrot and a pot of hoummous
two slices of cheese on toast
a pot of yoghurt

It's only 4.30 PM.

...and, I'm still starving. I can't wait for DH to come home so we can start cooking dinner.

All the while I can't even think about ginger, I had to throw away a pot of crystallised ginger as I gagged every time I saw it. I've also had to call DH and beg him to buy a different brand of toothpaste as the one we have currently makes me heave.

Why oh why don't pregnant women get Statutory Pregnancy Pay to help with the cost of eating like a maniac?

Anyone else out there with similar levels of craziness?

Ooh ooh can I join!! I am currently munching on a chocolate orange. I keep saying I'm going to be good and really going to try next week.

I am 21 weeks and only put on 8lb, but every ounce of it is on my arse! My bump pic is on profile.

Ooooh I am so glad I'm not alone!
BTW, being pregnant has completely deprived me of my favourite vices - clearly not allowed any red wine, but I've also lost my sweet tooth! I have been known to eat a whole tub of Ben and Jerry's in one go, but can't stand even thinking about sweet things at the moment. It's torture!
I want to be munching away on Easter eggs!

I forgot to add that I've eaten nearly a whole bag of hazelnuts. I know peanuts are forbidden, but am hoping other nuts are ok?

suwoo I've just looked at your pictures, and you give me hope! Apart from the bump you're tiny!

I've just eaten three quarters of a large pack of Haribo Starmix. Yesterday I ate almost all of a tray of sausage rolls.

I'm revolting...

But hungry.

Thanks Broodzilla but I'm not really. I work in the diet world and I'm a lot bigger than I'd like. Its the thought of all the hard work after that is making me eat more.

I put on 4 stone first time, 2 stone second time and hoping for no more than 2.5 stone this time. Need to stop eating shit though .

I am eating like a horse as well, I did stupidly weigh myself the other day, and I haven't put on any weight, despite my 17 week bump, so I am living in hope that the rest of me will end up slimmer

Last time I ate myself silly and got gigantic. This time I'm bloody starving and trying not to give in and buy chips on the way home.

I've been eating fruit and veg when I'm peckish and heefing down the carbs at meal times.

My dd just had dinner and I had to stop myself from munching it

Well the thing is that I started out at 85kg and a BMI of 29 so I have quite a bit of reserves that my body can use up...

Hello....glad I'm not the only one!! Having to combat constant nausea so naturally eating the contents of cupboards and fridge Got to find healthy options, although all things sweet I now find disgusting

Oh, I am right there with you, mrsdisorganised I am SO sick (just 11 some weeks but have been sick since week 5). Unless I have food in my mouth, I am throwing up. I am exhausted, disgusted and swear - I will never eat after I have this baby!

When I read what you girls are eating - I want to laught! Carrots?! Cheese? How about a bowl of pasta?!?!?

suwoo · 27/03/2009 18:47

Oh there's no salad eating going on in this house. Its pasta, bread, cheese and varying types of junk all the way. Only 18 weeks of eating shit to go

Report
Longtalljosie · 28/03/2009 07:50

Oh, I'm eating fruit and vegetables alright. I'm hitting my five a day, no bother. It's just I'm hitting the sausage rolls, Scotch eggs and Haribo as well...

Trikken · 28/03/2009 12:35

I too eat the veg as well, but nothing quite hits the spot like a ketchup sandwich and moam strips.

I've eaten almost nothing for the past three weeks besides American Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. The guy at the food hall in Selfridges knows me now and asks how the pregnancy is going! Six family size boxes are £23.94, and will make 12 giant bowls of the sickly orange stuff. DH just sighs and hands over his debit card.

The only ginger I'm eating is the pickled kind that comes with sushi. Unfortunately sushi is too expensive to crave regularly.

Vegetables? Does veg tempura count? I had some a week ago.

Fruit? I might have had an orange this week.

My diet is shite.....

I ate like a horse for the first trimester and then some... Am 31 weeks now and my appetite is more like its usual self - I do like my food so I probably eat more than some! But for ages I couldn't stop eating jacket potatoes with cheese, cheese sarnies, cheese on toast, pasta....mmmmm!

Don't deprive yourself - I think our bodies cry out for food cos we need it. It's great if you can eat healthily but I think it's one time when you can go for a bit of what you fancy. x

Chrysanthamum · 28/03/2009 19:46

I can't stop eating either and its more or less everything! First trimester i had nausea and piled on just a 1/2 stone, but now I'm making up for it! I can't get enough chocolate etc. I will be huge but dont care too much as this is my third and probably last pregnancy.

After three solid weeks of mac & cheese at least once, sometimes twice, a day--I finally got violently sick on it and now don't want to look at it. So tonight went to Sainsbury's with a vague idea of getting cheap sushi and came out with:

2 sushi packs
2 boxes Ritz crackers
packet of German Salami
Polish sausage
Extra mature cheddar
2 egg mayo sandwich fillers
2 Cheesy Wotsit multipacks
Pineapple juice
Orange/grapefruit juice
Packet of pickled ginger

This is not in any way a 'normal' shop for me! Maybe I was in some kind of fugue state, I don't really remember what I was thinking with any of it (besides the sushi).

golly, this is making me feel SOOOOOO much better, thank you all

I do hungry instead of morning sickness, so I was ravenous all summer; then we started travelling and I got bizarre coke cravings (the brown, not the white) and still can't get enough sugary stuff. Am appalled at myself, don't usually eat like this at all. Last time all I wanted (I kid you not) was brussels sprouts and spinach, and ds turned out all right - what on earth will the coca-cola kid be like? Besides LARGE, I mean [worried]

Report
Broodzilla · 31/03/2009 14:41

I have eaten 6 croissants in less than 24 hours. Doesn't go with my overall salty-cravings but damn it, I can't stop.

Can't stomach chocolate, but the link may come in useful in a few weeks so thanks bio!
