It's disgusting; all my clothess feel tight and there is fat splurging over the sides of my trousers [blush. I don't remember this with my first pregnancy and I seem to have been putting on the pounds for weeks now, yet I don't LOOK pregnant.
I would admit it if I was overeating, honest!
I just hope it is the pregnancy (I have a viability scan on Thursday after two mcs)and not me just getting middle-age spread.

Look at it this way, putting on weight is better than losing weight because of nausea.

True, but is it normal at this early stage?

It really normal to get really bloated in early pregnancy which will make you look like you've gained fat when its only water.

Either way you will gain the wt at some point so I wouldnt worry too much it will probably balance out in 2nd trimester.

Good luck.

I am 5.2 today and I have put on about 2-3lbs. I feel I look pregnant already and am very paranoid about it (obviously not a bump since bean is only 2-4mm this week! but a bulge!)

I got very bloated, my actual stomach started protruding, and the 'leftovers' from DD moved upwards very quickly.

At 18 weeks haven't put much on, and legs thinner, but look 7 months gone!!!

Pregnant or not, I've always had a fat lower tummy. It's just never flat, no matter how thin the rest of me has been (in the past )
But now, it's the upper tummy that I've noticed changing. Is that where the pregnancy shows first? I can't remember from my first pg!

I am 9 weeks and now darent get on the scales.

I started wearing maternity jeans at the weekend and feel alot better than trying to squeeze into normal ones.

I think its because I haven't been sick and have been eating more to stop myself feeling nauseaus.

Gateau... it's not the pregnancy at the top of your tummy, but the side effects of it. If you were perfect, your bump would pop out from the top of your pelvis at 12 weeks, and rise slowly, perfectly rounded, week by week.

Anything above that is bloating/constipation

I have a three part belly now at 18 weeks, bottom is baby, middle is jelly from DD and top is my digestive system!

THnaks, Hawkmoth.
Yep, that's what I meant, the side effects from it.

I bloated at 8 weeks - put on loads of weight! Had to keep eating regularly as was feeling so sick. Now at 35 weeks - apart from bump - I think I have actually lost weight... My legs I'm sure are slimmer! Although running around after a 2 year old helps! I think - just go with the flow and your body will gain at it's own pace.

I definitely piled on loads of weight in the first trimester. I'm normally fairly slim and weighed about 9st 10 pre-pregnancy (height 5ft 8). At my first 7 week appointment with a GP, he weighed me and I was already 10st 5!! I panicked.

I am now 28 weeks and when I last weighed myself (about 2 weeks ago) I was 11st 10, so I've stopped weighing myself now...

I was very bloated at the beginning though and probably was eating a bit more than usual because it was the only way I could stop the nausea.

Strangely, I'm in size 12 maternity clothes, haven't had to go up a size which I am amazed at but my bump itself is MASSIVE. Don't seem to have put weight on anywhere else - I'd be very surprised though if my bump weighed 2 stone!!

Try not to worry, my sister tried to keep her weight down during pregnancy and even though her little boy was 2 weeks late, he was barely 6lbs... Just eat as healthily as you can so your bubba can be healthy too...
