Well after only 3 months of trying (actually one month of trying and two months of not being too bothered I have had 2 BFP's).
I was obssessed with getting pg in December, joined the conception thread, started taking folic acid, obsessed about CM, BD at the right time, gave up the fags and wrong foods etc.
Then after I got AF at beginning of Feb i decided it wasnt going to happen and here goes my guide to conception:

  1. Take up smoking again
  2. Get really stressed in work
  3. Drink waaayyy too much, including getting drunk 3 days in a row the weekend I concieved
  4. Only have sex with dh once in a month
  5. Fall over in a heap on a concrete floor
  6. Use power plate at the gym
  7. Stop taking folic acid
  8. Go to Killers concert and jump up and down into a big sweaty mess for 2 hours

and hey presto a baby is made

We are over the moon, oh and if anyone knows me, please keep it to yourself for now, no facebook msgs please

Wow, congratulations
I found the opposite - both times it happened when I got my arse into gear and started trying properly instead of half heartedy!

Thank you, now I have to undo all the bad work, give up the fags NOW, started the folic acid again this morning and starting a new stress free job next week

Congratulations

Sounds like the month I conceived - I thought it would take me ages to get pg because I'd only just stopped taking the pill. I'm not a smoker though, so I can at least take that one off! Also, I can smugly report that we had sex twice

I usually find having a conversation about how your life finally seems like your own again and researching courses at college usually helps too .

congratulations .

Sounds like you have it all under control! Congratulations on giving up smoking - will you find it hard?

Yes, actually I forgot about the job interview (cue shaking for a whole day) and offer.... Oh well, what do I want a career for?

Well done Mosschops
scarily similar to mine - either drunk or hungover nearly every day in February, "social" smoking - but this meant a lot of the time as was always drinking... not really trying just occasional drunken sex, & hey presto am pregnant!

Quite surprised by the whole thing... & wish i'd known i was drinking my last glass of champagne.. but coming to terms with it all now

Yep, same for me, tried frantically for 5 months, folic acid, temperature taking, planned (and joyless) intercourse, the full works.

Then, a quick goodbye shag before I went off to Cannes on a work trip, spent a week at industry dinners, wine, champagne, cocktails every night, earliest I got to bed was 2am, some nights much later, dragging cases full of conference equipment wherever I went, ate pate, soft cheese, everything you're not supposed to (well, it WAS France) - got home, feeling, unsurprisingly, a bit queasy, but a week later, still no AF. Did a test, BFP.
