DH has been poorly for a couple of days but is now better and working away. it seems he left me his bug. have been vomiting since last night and the diarrohea start about 4am. have been trying to sip water but i can't keep anything down and am still vomiting bile. have barely slept and dd been up since 5.

is there anything else i can do other than try to drink water and wait for it to pass? and is it likely to be harming my baby?

Keep sipping as much water as you can and be reassured that it won't harm your baby. They take what they need from you even if that leaves you feeling really terrible (much like when they are born )
Hope you start feeling better quickly

thanks jlo2. i have had quite a bit of morning sickness this time but this is just hideous. i've never vomited for more than a few hours before, even with stomach bugs.

will keep going with the water....

how are you feeling today?

I had this at 9wks with this pregnancy (ds1 was 2.5yrs and ds2 11 months) and ended up getting anti nausea tablets to stop me being sick and avoid hospital admission - the only issue was dehydration, I think dh contacted NHS direct after I hadn't kept anything down for 24hrs and felt dizzy, baby will be taking everything it needs first so will leave you feeling more drained than a usual bout of sickness bug - even with the anti nausea tablets it was 72hrs before I could leave the bathroom (the tablets knocked out my gag reflex so I could keep stuff down but it doesn't stop you feeling sick whenever you eat or drink)

Hope your doing ok, if worried get some advice x

thanks insy. I am feeling a bit better today. i got a reasonable night's sleep and wasn't sick unitl this morning, but i am hoping this was my usual morning sickness.
I phoned my GP, she said to keep going with the water, dioralyte etc.

yours sounded awful by the way.
