Pregnancy

I've got my nuchal scan this afternoon, but the letter doesn't say anything about drinking water beforehand...

this is my fourth pregnancy and I've always had to have a full bladder for this scan.

Have things changed?

My letter didn't either but I assumed I had to so drank vats of water and sat there bursting for a wee. When I went, the first thing the lady did was send me off for a wee before scanning me. No idea why but clearly didn't need a full bladder....

I think they have too many problems with women with bulging bladders obscuring the uterus. Drink normally. Good luck.

@ Blameit, thank you.

WHAT a relief, in more ways than one, there's nothing worse than bursting for a wee, well bursting for a wee when pregnant AND having someone push down on your tummy.... wince.

My sonographer specifies EMPTY bladder for all scans. There is a notice up in the waiting room! Good luck for this afternoon.

I went with a full bladder after a few people mentioned this and the lady said they don't need this anymore due to new techniques. I felt a bit stupid as she tutted at me!

I'm relieved to say that I didn't need a full bladder, phew!!
