Okay, so how am I suppose to sleep?

So I know as my pregnancy progresses I won't be able to sleep on my back or my right side. Only I have a bad left leg and sleeping on my left side makes it fall asleep and ache. So what the heck am I suppose to do? Sleep standing up?

I see my rheumatoidologist next week, so I will ask her, but just wondering if any wonderful MNers had any suggestions!!

Why can't you sleep on your right side? I did with DS and I certainly do with this one.

I remember not being able to sleep on my back as I got bigger as I couldn't breath properly. The same is starting to happen now (28 weeks)
What I really really miss is not being able to sleep on my front!

I've been told that sleeping on your right side puts pressure on your Vena Cava, which takes blood to your lower body.

I've heard the same for sleeping on your back but never on your right side. Learn somehting new everyday! I'd say sleep on your right side unless it becomes uncomfortable - your body should tell you if it's not right

I always thought that left was optimal for the position of the baby but right side was fine.

Sleeping on your back puts pressure on your vena cava (whcih brings blood back from your lower body) and aorta (which delibvers bloody too your lower body).

Sleeping on your right is fine....I think that sleeping on your left is better for "optimal feotal positioning"...but sleeping on your right won't be a problem.

I slept on my right side with a wedge shaped cushion under the bump and a pillow between my knees. Didn't cause any problems.

Sleep on your back for as long as it is comfortable. There will come a time when your tummy will get so heavy that you will not want to. Then you can sleep on your right side. I never heard of that being a problem for anyone.

I can't fall to sleep on anything but my stomach.. so i'm well and truely screwed lying on my left side with a beany pillow between my legs is comfy.. but I can never actually fall to sleep that way.
