How do you stop your maternity trousers from falling down?!

Am pregnant with number two. My stomach has gleefully returned to its old pregnant shape, whilst my non existent bum is even flatter than normal. (If you have a bum and and think this is something to be envious of, dh told me i look like a builder!)

Any tips for where to get good trousers? I have to walk around holding most of them up, and the elasticated under the bump jeans are only wearable in the house now.

The holy grail of maternity trousers.

If I could answer your question I would be a very rich woman.

Saying that, over the bump trousers with the jersey panel seem to be better, although they still end up falling down eventually as the lycra starts to fail.

Someone posted on here when I was pg with DS that they had bought some cheap braces, attached them to the trousers and then wore their top over them to hide them. Seemed like an ingenious idea to me.

They're all rubbish I think... I have been wearing the same 2 pairs of mat jeans in rotation for the past 5 months and I'm sick of them! Thankfully I'm due next Sunday.

Well my top tip for "maternity" trousers is to go to BHS and buy their elasticated boot-leg trousers in a larger size than normal. (They do various colours and are only about £16)

They stretch brilliantly (have been wearing them since I grew out of my normal trousers and am now 32 wks and still lots of room to go!) but seem to stay up ok.

Maternity trousers ime never stay up!

Under the bump maternity jeans - just wear a belt. I'm due tomorrow and still wearing mine with a loose belt - just enough to stop them constantly falling down which they do otherwise. Often undo it when sitting watching telly or in the car or something... but wouldn't be able to wear them otherwise and only have 2 pairs of trousers which work at the moment!

I wear a bump band that goes over the top of my jeans and cover the bottom of bump...it holds up some seriously droopy jeans!!!

The best trousers I've found are H&M Mama over bump maternity jeans. These never wriggle down and really support the bump - I think the reason they stay up so well is that the denim isn't stretchy at all and is very tight, in contrast to the very stretchy lycra panel. My M&S ones are awful as the denim has too much give and just allows the trousers to slip further and further...

Also good are H&M velour stretchy trousers in black, sized up - personally, I think you can just about get away with these not looking too scruffy.

Leggings just seem to fall down

I found my bump belt thing impossible - after moving about a bit I just ended up with it riding up too high leaving a huge gap!

Fortunately I am lucky enough to be able to wear jeans to work! If it wasn't for that I would probably wear skirts/tights more often.

Braces are a genius idea and worked for me. Partic if you have no bum.

I had a couple of bits of elastic with a clip on either end - to attach trousers to bra. . You do need a seriously-well-upholstered bra though.

Can't remember where I got them but they are exactly the same as the mitten clips that JoJoMamanBebe sell.

Here you go

Belly Ups

I didn't get them from that site but those are the things.

Bit annoying when you go to the toilet, but they did the job.

Yea, my doula gave me some belly ups and they work a treat.

I'd definately recomend the belly band. They are basically like a boob tube that sits over your maternity or opened normal trousers to keep them up. Think they're really cheap in new look and on ebay and come in loads of colours aswell.

I have the belly band but these dont help mat trousers falling down!
Use one every day whether i need one or not as they are warm and an extra layer covering bump!!

Next black jersey trousers are amazingly flattering and comfy. Still part of my wardrobe, though am v much not pregnant (though my tummy would seem to suggest otherwise, funny how I lost it all a month after ds was born but have put it all back on )

(all my other trousers fall down too. v annoying when pushing pram with one hand holding dd's hand with other)
