Hi there - I was hoping someone can help me with my problem.

I tested this morning and got a BFP! My problem is that I was on day 8 of this month when I went to the Dental sedation clinic. I had a head x-ray and was sedated for 15mins (not GA but obviously something similar - a jag in the back of my hand), while they took a couple of back teeth out. Now I have a panic that I am 29 days pregnant - have I caused any damage?

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

I really doubt it could have caused damage seeing as it was your head rather than tummy area that was x-rayed. But call the dentist to put your mind at rest about sedation. Usually if a procedre like taht is potentially harmful to an unborn child, they really press you about whether you could be pregnant, so if they didn't bring that up it is probably a good sign. Congrats!

Thank you bellabelly

I wasn't verbally asked it but it was on the questionnaire I filled in and I answered honestly that I wasn't pregnant.

After 2 miscarriages, I think my brain is on overdrive!

Thanks for your advice.

welcome - also just re-read your OP and if the dental thing was on day 8, you probably hadn't even ovulated then so I really wouldn't worry!

it is a risk if you are pregnant but you wouldn't have been pregnant yet at that time - so don't worry!

That has put my mind at rest - trying to find a quiet place in a busy office to contact the sedation clinic to have a word with them, otherwise a sleepless night...

Thanks everyone.

Just contacted the dental sedation clinic and the dentist said the xray is miniscule and that I had 10ml of Midazolam to sedate me for those 15/20mins. He reckons I will be fine but to check with my OB to put my mind at rest.
