A typical night for me now, at 35+4, runs like this:
10.30: Bedtime. Toss and turn, try to get comfortable. Get comfortable. Need a wee.
11.00: Get up for a wee. Get back into bed. Toss and turn, try to get comfortable. Just dropping off to sleep. DP wakes me up by snoring.
11.30: Nudge DP. Toss and turn. Put earplugs in. Drop off to sleep.
12.00: DP nudges me. Take earplugs out. Say "what"? DP tells me am snoring. Wake up fully. Toss and turn.
12.30: Thirsty. Big glug of water. Toss and turn more. Need wee.
01.00: Get up for a wee. Back into bed. Get comfortable. Earplugs in. Drop off to sleep. Wake up again with heartburn.
01.30: Big swig of Gaviscon straight from bottle on dressing table. Drop off to sleep.
02.00: Wake self up snoring. Need wee.
02.30: Get up for wee. Back into bed. Get comfortable. Drop off to sleep. Have dream that have to cook macaroni cheese for 6 kids and can't do it. Wake up, thirsty.
03.00: Reach for water. Water is empty. Get up. Fill water glass. Go back to bed, get comfortable. Drop off to sleep. Have nightmare about going on ghost walk with friend.
03.30: Wake up, frightened, with dead arm. Become convinced that ghost is stopping me from moving arm. Need wee. Too scared to get up. DP nudges me. Take earplugs out.
"What?"
"Are you ok?"
"Yes, can't sleep"
"Awwwwww"
04.00: Get up, have wee. Back into bed. Toss and turn, baby moving. Rub tummy, not really minding being kept awake. Heartburn.
04.30: Big glug of Gaviscon straight from bottle. Drop off to sleep.
05.00: Woken by DP snoring. Reach for earplugs. Knock over full glass of water. Swear. DP wakes up, puts light on. Sort out spillage. Toss and turn. Drop off to sleep.
06.30: Manage hour and half. Need wee. Get up. Have wee.
07.00: DP gets up for work. Am wide awake, if not slightly deranged.
