Have been waiting on edge of seat for specialist heart scan and 20 week scan for this baby (tis LittleMyDancing in disguise, by the way) and completely bricking it as this was the point we found problems last time (stop me if you've heard this before)

So both scans booked for Wed, and got home today to find message on machine from lovely consultant asking why i hadn't shown up today!

Checked my letter......scans were in fact today.

oh bugger arse feck arse feck bugger. you can't get 20 week scans or heart scans at the drop of a hat.

Call, cry, beg for any cancellations.

They are dealing with pregnant women - they must have a lot of forgotten things

I will cry. I almost cried when I heard the answerphone message!

oh arse and feck, it had all been so beautifully arranged so that we had our heart scan followed immediately by our 20 week scan, all in one go with the lovely consultant. Now we'll have to scrabble around for slots.

Bah. I'm normally SO efficient, DP thinks pregnancy just completely addles my brain.

Call tomorrow and I'm sure they will fit you in somewhere. Be sure to cry a lot!

I'm not sure it will need much trying on my part to weep! Am kicking myself mentally, REALLY hard.

Hello NorthernLurker, how are you? do you like my new identity?

Well it's a good job you said it was you or I wouldn't have known! I'm sure it will be fine. Your consultant knows why you need this scan and they will sort it out for you - you might have to go in early or very late though!

Oh no! What a disaster. Agree with others, cry and wail til they fit you in. I'm sure they'll understand. Hope everything's ok.

It seemed appropriate - DP is ill, DS is ill, the business is having trouble, DPs employees are being useless, and I clearly cannot be relied upon for anything! What Fresh Hell Is This seemed about right....

I shall change back when I have had scans and all's well.

You're right, I know they'll work it out, I'm just cross with myself as it was so beautifully arranged so that all the scans were done before I started new job next week. Now it might all overlap and I don't know if we'll see cardiologist and consultant at same time, etc etc

oh well, I know what's more important out of job and baby, let's face it!

Thanks CharChar - looks like the Fetal Medicine Unit is going to get a call from a wailing woman as soon as their switchboard opens!

I may have picked it up from you, CauldronFrau! It summed it up beautifully

I have the loveliest consultant in the world, so I'm sure he'll fix it for me. He doesn't look anything like Jimmy Savile, though, luckily.

Good morning - a quick update, rang the Fetal Medicine Unit this morning, no weeping required! My lovely consultant answered the phone, called me a nitwit () and they've managed to squeeze me in for both scans on Friday afternoon.

Hooray!

I think I love them.

Great that they gave you a new app...same thing happened to me but I just called and pretended that I called asking for an alternative date and was waiting for a new appointment...pregnancy really makes you lose your brain, so annoying lol

I have worked out why it happened though - the midwife who wrote it down on my notes put 'Monday 29th October' whereas in fact it was the 27th, so all I remembered was the 29th bit.

then when the official letter arrived I didn't bother looking at it, as I thought I knew it was the 29th. If that makes sense.

Makes me feel slightly less bonkers, anyway.

Morning Cauldron, how's sunny California?
