Really painful 'stitch' type thing under my ribs feels like am going to burst - 25 weeks

I haven't read about it much in any of the pregnancy manuals.
I had stitch type pain a couple of weeks back but today it got so bad could hardly walk and felt literally as if I would burst. Friends have been joking with me that it's all those sit ups I used to do. I was at the gym this morning but only went on x trainer.
Have put in a call to NHS Direct but wondering if I'm one of those women whose body doesn't produce relaxin (sp?)
Am also wondering if my posture is not so good

I had that, it's perfectly normal just a sign to slow down according to my midwife. I mainly had it when walking, stopping or holding/putting pressure on it helped a lot.

LOADS of threads about it on here, maybe search the archives?

You might ACTUALLY be about to burst

Don't stretch up too high

Hi I have exactly the same thing and the midwives asked me to come in to get it checked out. They think its a musclo-skeletal sprain - possibly because I was on holiday and did a bit too much swimming in the sea (nice this time of year in Sardinia) - not much you can do about it except for put up with it. If its really bothering you no harm in getting it checked out to put your mind at ease but mine is under my ribs on the left and the pain is extremely intense - like someone putting a screwdriver through my side and twisting it. Hot water bottles and paracetemol may help - dont really do much for me unfortunately.

Thanks everyone, rang hospital and they told me I needed to go in. Turns out it was ligament pain and still have it today. I'd been doing yoga (pregnancy from DVD and gym workout) that morning! Have been told to rest, which is sooo frustrating as I was adamant I'd be doing some kind of exercise. Was surprised because I thought I'd be really fit and able to stretch, used to train 5-7 times a week.
Is a lesson to any of us not to overdo it!
