Pregnancy

Anyone done any STUPID things while pregnant....

I crashed our new car yesterday into a concrete pillar in the car park - got a massive dent in the back. DH keeps asking how I managed it and I honestly have no idea (I seem to have blanked it out in my head, except for the massive crunch when I actually hit the pillar) but am sure being 30 weeks pregant has something to do with it... Apparently my mum hit the window of a car showroom when pregnant with my brother and brought the whole thing down! It has really shaken me up and upset me though. Would appreciate any stories to cheer me up from anyone else whose pregnant brain has made them do daft things...

I took my socks of and flushed them down the loo at about 24 weeks. Does that make you feel any better?

You don't have to be pregnant to do things like this. I've done many! Pregnancy is not an excuse!

Well I wasn't quite so destructive, but I was seriously clueless when pg. Once I took our cordless phone out with me thinking it was my mobil. While out I tried to use it to phone DP at home. I couldn't work out why it wasn't working.

My colleague put a chicken, all prepared and ready to roast, in the washing machine.

I attempted to open our front door by standing in front of it and pressing the button on the car key fob. I wouldn't mind but I spent ages trying to work out why it wouldn't open, thinking maybe the batteries had gone. I hope the neighbours weren't watching.

lots.

Mainly involving putting things in stupid places. A £20 in the bin for example and only realising after the remains of dinner had been put in on top. Always putting things in the fridge that didn't belong there. Crashed the car too - not badly - but never did that before or since.

Worryingly, the 'putting things in stupid places' problem is still with me

I binned our remote control - only explanation as to where it is gone and DH is away...

Dinner party when 12 weeks I made broccoli soup for a starter and kept thinking i had forgotten to put pepper in. Must have done it about 6 times. Couldn't taste it as suddenly the thought of soup made me feel sick. Sat down to dinner and watched everyone turn bright red. They were too nice to say anything.

I also seem to have lost the ability to reverse park...

ha ha ha

well, I walked in front of a bus which was pretty stupid. Fine now though!

I'm pretty clumsy/daffy anyway adding pregnancy to the mix seems to be baad.

I left my shopping at Safeway. Packed it up, paid for it, left half of it on the till and walked away. Sent DH back for it when I realised and the shop had put it in the fridge for me!!

Pulled a mirrored wardrobe door off it's hinges, ducked out of the way and it went straight through the window. That was embarrassing explaining to the insurance company.

Drove off and left the pram on the pavement after loading in the kids....

oh I've got heaps of stories and I wasn't necessarily pregnant when they happened.

I have:

also lost the ability to park, even when I am just driving straight forward into a kerb side space with no other cars in the vicinity. Cue me mounting the kerb and stalling, and having to turn the car around to approach it from the driver's side.

Fallen into the sandpit at the childrens farm.

Left the dishwasher open, turned around, turned back and fell over the open door. Everything flew out, I fell into it. That was quite bad actually, thought I'd done some really serious damage. I had, but only to the dishwasher.

Spilt hot chocolate on a small child's head in the local library.

Am 21 weeks pg to date: reversed into a basketball stand in a school playground, nearly knocked down a nun (was also in reverse) the following week &
forgot which side of the road you're supposed to drive on and chose the wrong side.

terrifyingly for all of you guys, I drive loads for work (!)

Took my son to playgroup in the car and walked home. Didn't even wonder at the fact that I didn't have a pushchair for him when he's not even two yet.

Only started to wonder when DH arrived home from work on his pushbike and questioned where the car was.

Went to get it back but found the carpark locked for the weekend.. was very unpopular

Last time went to work in one high heeled boot and one flat one.. didn't notice at all. It was pointed out to me by a well meaning customer during a meeting

glad is not just me.... I went to work (on the train) in my slippers. Twice. Luckily I work in the arts and everyone just thought I was really trendy. Bit embarrasing in the queue for the bank though.

Oh god yes, eight months pregnant I decided to wade, fully clothed, into our fishpond (it's more a lake than a pond really) to dive for an clean the filters. There are pics somewhere, maybe on my profile of this. I was hospitalised the following day with high BP - wonder why?!

Oh and reversed into two skips, with lights on, on my own driveway

First time put a micronoodle in the microwave and turned it on but forgot to add the water first so melted the plastic pot and burnt the noodles! Smelt digusting!

This time have put ds clothes in the bin instead of wash basket. Turned oven on left it for an hour, when I went to get the chicken out it was sat on the side obviously still raw!

Told dp last night that ds could have sandwich for dinner, then told him that I would wait until he put our dinner in the oven so that I didn't put the oven on twice.

Waited at a green light and then pulled away when it turned red.

hehe - fabulous - some real laugh out loud moments there ! (in hindsight of course !)

I'm only 4 wks pg, but did manage on Saturday to DRIVE down a footpath at the side of a church (carpark was on the other side of the church) - once I realised I couldn't go forward, I had to reverse back - saw that there was a wall and I'd have to do a sort of dog leg to avoid it, then promptly forgot and ploughed right back into it

I don't think anyone saw, damage to car was minimal and, fortunately, I hadn't yet picked up my friend and her baby
