Anyone think how you carry does determine the babys gender?

I am finding out the sex of my baby in 9 days and counting but i'm still dying to find out right now....impatient I know. I've been told that as i've not gained weight anywhere other than my bump n boobs that it is most likely a boy and also as my bump is quite low, does anyone believe this is true? or had an experience to support or quash the theories? x

Thats exactly how I have carried and I'm having a boy (now 3 days over). Also, my 2 neighbours who have recently had baby boys were exactly the same. Not sure if it is always true but from recent experience seems to be.

I don't know...I do think it's pretty imprecise, even if there is some anecdotal basis - I carried both of my boys high, but the first was all at the front and the second kind of went round the sides a bit too! Also I put on about a stone with the first and 2.5 with the second.

I guess there might be more progesterone etc involved if you are having a girl, which in theory might influence where you put on weight or how much, but I'm not sure!

Definitely. When pregnant with DD, I was a ball of fat. I see friends carrying boys and they are these neat little bumps in front of an otherwise normal body.

When I was pregnant with DS I had a little compact bump all at the front and put on hardly any weight. With DD I was still all at the front but at much bigger bump and generally much fatter everywhere! It could have been due to other factors though...carrying more weight because it was my 2nd baby, I wasnt working full time throughout the pregnancy like with DS.

I was all in front and compact with dd1, with dd2 I was like a walking sofa

I gained loads of weight and ended up with an enormous bust last time - had a boy

This time expecting a girl. - gained hardly any weight, just a few pounds. Have a little round bump on my front but only look pregnant from the back if I'm walking as I have the full-term waddle going on. Bust hasn't increased in size at all..

i carried my boy & girl exactly the same, much sicker with my boy pregnancy though. everyone told me my DS would be a DD due to how i carried.. but he was most definitely a boy

I was all bump and boobs too, and had a girl.

I think it's an old wives tale (ie. a load of bollocks)

I only put weight on around my stomach with both my boys, but had a different shaped bump with DS2 because he was lying transverse for most of the pregnancy.
My mum was all out front with me & blew up like a balloon with my sister!

My pregnancies were pretty much identical, both in how I looked & how I felt - one boy, one girl.

Sorry Carol but its rubbish. I have 5 boys and each pregnancy was totaly different. Good luck with finding out. What are you hoping for? Boy or girl?

Im on baby 7 and have carried them all differently, some have been all out front and some all round but it wasnt if it was a boy or a girl they were random if that makes sence.

I have been "all baby' with all my pregnancies. DS was bigger so my bump was bigeer. I think it has more to do with your body shape, how many babies you've had, what position the baby is in etc. Iwas very 'neat' with DD but had the worst HG in all off my pg and lost two stone so that would be a determining factor there. No HG this time and I've gained a little weight but my bump looks long but neat like the other two.

Don't forget it might be hiding its bits at the scan, also they DO get it wrong, so don't be too set on believing you will know after it! Also don't go mad with the gender specific stuff in case they get it wrong...

Personally, although I would like to know in way, I really dislike all the pink or blue stuff that surrounds babies both just before and just after birth. Children and then people are stereotyped for most of their lives so I hate the idea of starting it at the very beginning...

I have a DS and even though I put a little bit of weight on during the pregnancy, from behind, you would not have known it!

He was all bump! From the back - if you ignore the cowboy walk....I looked practically normal!

12 weeks with second pregnancy now....can't wait till 20 weeks to find out if I am having a girl or boy!!!!!

All I can say is with DS I had quite an easy and uneventful pregnancy...this time round - totally different - bad nausea, indigestion, wind, bloating, bad skin etc etc.....I am an image of loveliness at the moment!

I had huge bump with 1st pregnancy and not much weight anywhere else. Everyone told me it was a boy- she was a girl.
Not sure this time but at 19 weeks I look excatly the same as last time- leaving it for a surprise though!
