I would take a deep breath and get an old fashioned pregnancy test kit. The sort that you pick up for about ÂŁ3 from super drug. You wee on it and get two lines if you are pregnant.

I don't understand the point of expensive and fancy test kits. Are you supposed to be able to use them at an earlier date?

I think they're supposed to take away the uncertainty of whether a faint line is really a line, but that doesn't help when they contradict each other!

False positives are pretty rare, apparently, so sounds like a positive result to me but I can see why you're confused. Is there anything on the packaging that says how sensitive they both are or is the new one supposed to be particularly sensitive? That could explain the different results. Personally I'd be going out and buying about a dozen different tests and doing them all

Hi thanks for replying, the box say same accuracy but the new one gives a conception time which makes me wonder if its to much info and too early fo result. I will just have to get another tomorrow as need to kow as on hol monday and the suspence will kill me!

If I was reading this i would say pregnant as rare for false positive but when in position dont want to get hopes up, other thing is i feel so well full of life which is very rare!

I suppose that when I have done a pregnancy test I always got a strong line. I only test two weeks after my period is due.

Its interesting a fancy kit giving a conception time. That is really clever. Why not get several cheap tests.

I bought two and the first test was a really strong result. I have been worried because I have had had no pregnancy symptoms and I was wondering if I had miscarriaged or something. (I have had no bleeding, just no pregnancy symptoms) It was nice being able to retest the morning and check I was still pregnant.

I'm coming up to 8 weeks. Last time I was pregnant I was throwing up with severe morning sickness and feeling faint. Touch wood I have not yet had a bout of morning sickness at all.

I did have a bit of metalic taste but that has disappeared. Although the total lack of symptoms is nice, its also a bit scary. There is something weirdly reassuring about pregnancy symptoms.

The only symptom I have is that my breasts have grown.

false +ves are vv rare, it could just be that the HCG was weaker in the second sample, especially if you have been drinking enough to produce another wee.

I haven't yet had any ante natal care yet. Its disgusting. I have been trying for three weeks to get an appointment with my GP to get refered to the midwife. The receptionist does not consider it urgent, but I still feel the wait is ridiculous.

When I had my first six years ago in Newbury I had fanastic ante natal care with a lovely community midwife. I am finding it really hard to get registered for ante natal care in Hertfordshire. Its so disorganised.
