How many weeks are you? Have you told your m/w you think it's breech again?

Hi Sambrads! How many weeks are you now? How has the pregnancy been? Don't know if you remember me I answered you on the clomid thread.

DD no 2 was breech from 24 weeks, she didn't budge I'm afraid, ended up with a section.

Mention it to the midwife and see what they think. It all depends upon how many weeks you are as to what they will do.

Hi sambrads and 31 weeks on sat and I am totally paranoid which way up this LO is. I had a missed breech with DS so I am ultra sensitive to this. This LO was transverse-ish at 28 week but the mw (knowing my paranoia) couldn't confirm if the head was at the top or bottom. No big movements since then but kicks near the top of my bump and in the pelvis. Your movements in the pelvis could be punches rather than kicks? I have a mw appointment on Monday so we will see then. From last time I do know that didn't really get distinct kicks more wriggles like a snake. So I don't really have an answer but we can have a worried corner on the Oct thread!

I'm fine thanks! Can't believe you are 31 weeks already.

My sister is in your situation at the moment, she is due on 2nd Sept. So a bit further on that you.

If you are breech in a few weeks they will discuss ECV with you. You could also ask about Moxibustion in your area. My sister is considering this.

Moxibustion

ECV

hedgepig made a good point about the kicks possibly being punches, try not to worry! Did you get any news at the midwife?

DD was breech from 28 weeks. I had a normal vaginal (breech) birth at 40+10. Breech doesn't mean you HAVE to have a CS.

Two books I found very useful were "Breech Birth" by Benna Waites and "Breech Birth: What are my options" by Jane Evans.

In addition to moxibustion you could look for a Chiropractor skilled in the Webster Technique, or try some of the annecdotal methods (spend a lot of time on your knees and elbows / doing handstands in a swimming pool / lying head down on an ironing board propped against the sofa / sitting in a warm bath with a bag of frozen peas on top of the bump / trying to attract the baby's head down using lights, music or dady's voice).

Chances are your baby will turn of its own accord (IIRC only 3-4% of babies are still breech at term, which is why guidelines say you shouldn't have position discussed until 36 weeks), but if you'd be one of the 3-4% then the earlier you start "suggesting" the more likely you are to get them head down.

I was breach at 32 weeks, transverse at 34 and head down at 36. MW seemed completely unconcerned at the time, then in my head I was planning my section. Of course, as she turned round and normal head down delivery. I think it's quite common.
